UK Outlook for Monday 19 Nov 2007 to Wednesday 28 Nov 2007:

Unsettled at first, with showers or rain periods, particularly in the east and south. Showers will be wintry over hill and mountains, and will continue into the middle of the week about coasts exposed to a generally northerly airstream. For most places, though, the weather will become dry, but with an increasing risk of overnight frost and fog. By the end of the week, rain will extend to most areas, possibly heavy in the north with the risk of gales. Temperatures throughout the week are likely to be below normal. A further band of rain is likely, wintry over higher ground in the north, early the following week with subsequent drier periods and occasional showers, with temperatures remaining generally below normal.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 20 Nov 2007 to Thursday 29 Nov 2007:

This period is set to start off with low pressure to the south of the UK, though with various troughs and fronts over the UK, bringing rain or showers to many, particularly England and Wales. Scotland may have somewhat drier conditions, with some night-time frosts. This more settled weather, brought about by an area of high pressure to the north of Scotland, may extend southwards across the UK for a time during the first week of the forecast. Thereafter there is some uncertainty over the exact detail but winds are expected to blow from between the north and west and so conditions could turn a little more unsettled. Whatever the outcome, temperatures throughout this period are likely to be on the low side, with occasional night-time frosts.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 21 Nov 2007 to Friday 30 Nov 2007:

Unsettled conditions are likely across England and Wales on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday next week with showers, some rain and just a few brighter spells. Scotland and Northern Ireland should be drier and brighter, northwest Scotland seeing the best weather, but still with a few showers. Thereafter there is a lot of uncertainty regarding the evolution of the weather but there is a suggestion of many places being dry for a time next weekend before more unsettled weather moves in later. Generally temperatures will be below normal and, with locally fresh to strong winds expected, it will feel chilly. Into the following week, some showers or longer spells of rain could well occur, especially across northern and western areas, with the best of the drier, brighter weather across eastern districts.

UK Outlook for Thursday 22 Nov 2007 to Saturday 1 Dec 2007:

The end of next week is expected to be rather cool and unsettled with showers for many, but a drier interlude seems likely as a ridge of high pressure nudges down from the northwest, bringing some sunny spells, but also some overnight frost. Later in the weekend and during the early part of the following week, very unsettled weather is likely to return. There will be rain or showers, some of these perhaps heavy, bringing snow to northern hills especially, and it may become very windy for a time with a risk of gales. It will continue cool. Thereafter, there are some indications that the weather should settle down with drier conditions developing. It should become rather less chilly, especially by day, but night frost should still be expected.

A return to unsettled conditions is expected for a time over the weekend with wet and windy weather sweeping south and east across all areas, the rain heavy at times, accompanied by strong southwest then westerly winds, perhaps gales for a time. Showers will follow across the north, heavy and squally, perhaps wintry. From Sunday, a quieter interlude is expected to develop as high pressure edges in from the north and west, although showers may be rather persistent in the southeast and, in the far northwest, further periods of wet and windy weather are likely. Daytime temperatures, rather below normal at first but becoming somewhat milder in most areas later. By night, a risk of frosts and fog patches developing, especially Sunday night onwards.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 27 Nov 2007 to Thursday 6 Dec 2007:

The period will start with temperatures near normal and some coastal showers, otherwise fine weather. A rainband will then move across the country from the northwest, to reach southeastern parts by late Wednesday. Some heavy and prolonged rain is likely with this band. Following the rainband the weather is likely to be rather unsettled, with rain and showers, more persistent in northern and western areas and possibly the east at times. It will be breezy with strong winds and perhaps gales in the north. By the end of next week, the weather will become generally drier. UK Outlook for Thursday 29 Nov 2007 to Saturday 8 Dec 2007:

The weather during this period on the whole is likely to be rather unsettled, with rain and showers, most persistent in northern and western areas where it will be breezy with strong winds and perhaps gales from time to time. Over the course of the first weekend however, (1st and 2nd of December), the weather could become drier after a showery start, it may also be quite cool with a risk of frost. Thereafter, the more unsettled weather is expected to return across the UK, the worst of the wind and rain in the north with a risk of sleet or snow at times on the mountains, the best of any drier spells in the south and east, with temperatures generally around normal.

UK Outlook for Friday 30 Nov 2007 to Sunday 9 Dec 2007:

The weather during the period as a whole is likely to be rather unsettled. Rain and showers will be most persistent in northwestern areas, where it will be breezy with strong winds and gales from time to time, southeastern parts often seeing somewhat better conditions with less rainfall and mostly mild temperatures. There is very little overall change as we go into the following week, unsettled weather expected to return east to most parts of the UK. Northern Britain will see the risk of snow at times over higher ground, particularly Scottish mountains, and here there continues the risk of gales, possibly severe. Temperatures generally around normal, but mild at times in the south and southeast.

UK Outlook for Sunday 2 Dec 2007 to Tuesday 11 Dec 2007:

This period is likely to be very unsettled. Initially, sunny spells and showers are expected generally, with a risk of some wet conditions across southern parts of the UK on Sunday as showers merge to give some longer spells of rain. It could be quite windy at times too. Next Tuesday should see a short period of more settled weather, with more sunny spells, lighter wind and a risk of some overnight frosts. However, a brisk southwesterly airflow is expected to bring wet and windy, but quite mild, conditions across the UK from next Wednesday or Thursday, with a risk of gales at times, perhaps severe gales in exposed parts of western Scotland. It is then likely to remain unsettled next weekend and into the following week.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 4 Dec 2007 to Thursday 13 Dec 2007:

Unsettled weather is expected to dominate across all areas of the UK as Atlantic weather systems continue to spread in from the west. Wet and sometimes windy spells will be interspersed with brighter though showery intervals. Gales likely at times especially over southern and western coasts and hills but with a risk of some inland gales as well. Rainfall will be well above average especially over western areas. With winds mostly between west and southwest, temperatures will remain close to normal, tending towards mild during rainy spells then cooler during the brighter, showery weather. Frost should occur with much less than the usual frequency and although some snow is likely over the mountains of Scotland, very little if any snow is expected elsewhere.

UK Outlook for Saturday 8 Dec 2007 to Monday 17 Dec 2007:

It will remain unsettled during much of this period. Low pressure will often be centred to the north of Britain with winds generally coming from a westerly quadrant. This will ensure plenty of rain, especially in the west, with periods of strong winds and also some heavy showers in between. Some brief drier, brighter interludes are also likely. Frost and fog are likely to be relatively short lived and confined to gaps between weather systems, There are increased signs of slightly more settled weather coming along later in the period, particularly for the south, with southwesterlies more dominant. Temperatures are likely to be around average, although some short-lived colder incursions of polar air are likely at times mainly in the north, which may bring wintry precipitation, especially to hills.

UK Outlook for Sunday 9 Dec 2007 to Tuesday 18 Dec 2007:

Continuing unsettled, especially at first. Low pressure will be centred near northern Britain on Sunday with winds generally coming from a westerly direction. This will ensure plenty of rain in in all parts, with periods of very strong winds and also some heavy showers as well. This will be followed by a colder interlude on Monday and Tuesday with some wintry precipitation in the north. This theme of rain followed by wintry showers will continue into midweek. Then there are increased signs of slightly less unsettled weather coming along towards the end of the week and into the weekend, particularly for the southeast, as southwesterlies look like becoming more dominant. Temperatures mostly around average, although some short-lived colder incursions of polar air at first, perhaps milder later.

UK Outlook for Monday 10 Dec 2007 to Wednesday 19 Dec 2007:

Rain and some strong winds over eastern parts initially should clear during Monday morning, with sunny spells and showers in the west then following eastwards. There should be plenty of fine, dry weather on Tuesday, although wet, windy conditions are expected to reach the northwest later on. The unsettled conditions are then forecast to spread over other western areas during Wednesday, reaching all parts on Thursday with some heavy rain and strong winds at times, mainly in the west. Next weekend and the start of the following week are expected to be unsettled too with brisk westerly winds, however some more settled weather is possible by mid-week especially in the south, as pressure starts to rise. Temperatures will be around normal generally, perhaps rising a little later next week.

interesting to see they are not taking too much notice of the other 2 models, their own does suggest a more southerly flow at T+144, which is as far as it goes.

UK Outlook for Friday 14 Dec 2007 to Sunday 23 Dec 2007:

High pressure over the near continent looks set to dominate at least the first half of this period. The far northwest may see thicker cloud and the threat of rain at times, but for most parts of the UK it will be generally dry. Some sunshine is likely, and under clear skies at night, fairly widespread frosts can be expected too but as is often the case in these situations, some fog, and low cloud may well form and could prove rather persistent in places, which may provide some rather cold and grey days. Heading towards the end of next week and into the following weekend, there are indications of a return to slightly more unsettled conditions, particularly in the north.

UK Outlook for Saturday 15 Dec 2007 to Monday 24 Dec 2007:

High pressure over Europe looks set to dominate for much of this period. The far northwest may see thicker cloud, milder conditions, and the threat of rain at times, but for most parts of the UK it will be generally dry if rather cold. Some sunshine is likely, and under clear skies at night, fairly widespread frosts can be expected too but as is often the case in these situations, some fog, and low cloud may well form and could prove rather persistent in places, which could provide some rather raw-feeling days with temperatures only just above freezing, particularly in the southeast and Midlands. UK Outlook for Sunday 16 Dec 2007 to Tuesday 25 Dec 2007:

Northwestern parts of the United Kingdom are likely to be cloudy and breezy with outbreaks of rain at times for much of the outlook period, although temperatures should be around normal. Elsewhere conditions are likely to be largely dry with light winds, variable cloud and occasional sunny spells for most of next week. The thickest cloud may bring the odd spot of light rain, perhaps some light snow flurries, although amounts will be small. It will be rather cold, perhaps cold in the southeast, with some overnight frost and fog patches likely too. Late next week more unsettled, but less cold, conditions are likely to spread across from the west bringing showers and outbreaks of rain along with some stronger winds, and these conditions should persist into the following week.
