UK Outlook for Sunday 2 Mar 2008 to Tuesday 11 Mar 2008:

The period is likely to commence with continuing unsettled weather, showers or periods of rain are likely, heaviest in the west and north with an increased occurrence of wintry showers on high ground in the north. It will be generally windy with gales likely and severe gales possible, particularly in the north. It will be mild to start, perhaps very mild in the south, but by later Monday temperatures will return to near normal. From Tuesday, more stable and cooler weather is likely with most places drier and sunnier by day with lighter winds. By late next week though, northern and particularly northwestern areas will start to experience unsettled conditions again. For the following weekend and thereafter, it is likely that cooler and wetter than normal conditions will prevail.

UK Outlook for Monday 3 Mar 2008 to Wednesday 12 Mar 2008:

The period is likely to commence on a mostly changeable note with showers or periods of rain at times, heaviest in the west and north, with an increased occurrence of snow over high ground. Southern Britain will have the best of any drier conditions. It will become colder from the north with wintry showers of sleet and snow spreading to northeast Britain during the first week, and still generally windy with gales or severe gales possible, particularly in the north. There is a good deal of uncertainty, but it seems likely that the weekend and the following week are also quite changeable with further rain or showers, especially in the north, although temperatures are likely to return towards normal, especially across the south.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 4 Mar 2008 to Thursday 13 Mar 2008:

Cloudy, rather cold conditions with some rain, sleet and snow are expected widely on Tuesday and into Wednesday, with sunny spells and wintry showers over Scotland. It is likely to be windy too with a risk of northwesterly gales. However, aside from some wintry showers in the northwest, it should turn drier and brighter for most during the middle of next week with sunny spells by day and frosty nights. More unsettled conditions are forecast to spread east towards the end of the week bringing further cloud and rain, with snow in the north. For the following week, it is likely to turn a little drier in the south and more showery and breezy in the north. After a rather cold start, temperatures should recover to near normal.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 5 Mar 2008 to Friday 14 Mar 2008:

Cloudy, rather cold conditions with some rain, sleet and snow are expected quite widely at the start of this period (even to low levels), with sunny spells and wintry showers over Scotland. However, aside from some wintry showers in the northwest, some southern areas will be drier and brighter into the middle of next week with sunny spells by day and quite frosty nights. The trend thereafter is for further unsettled conditions to spread east to affect all areas, although by the end of the period cloud, rain and strengthening winds will again be affecting mainly northern areas of Britain, with some snow at times. Temperatures will be rather cold at first and again later, but occasionally near normal in the south. It will often be windy.

Presumably this means the ECM is totally wrong and will start to look more like the GFS later today. :D

UK Outlook for Friday 7 Mar 2008 to Sunday 16 Mar 2008:

Much of England and Wales will be dry and bright with sunny spells by day and perhaps some frost overnight initially. However, it will stay more unsettled further north, with outbreaks of rain and some snow over hills. These unsettled conditions will spread south and east to affect all areas during next weekend with strong winds at times, and some gales over northern and western parts. Into next week, drier, brighter conditions are expected to gradually spread northwards, with the best weather in the east, but it will probably remain unsettled across northern parts of the UK. Temperatures will be generally around or just below normal at first edging up to around normal during this forecast period.

UK Outlook for Saturday 8 Mar 2008 to Monday 17 Mar 2008:

Plenty of cloud and showers or longer spells of rain, some heavy, are expected across all parts this weekend, with the best of any dry, bright weather likely over southern England. Strong winds are also forecast, with gales probable over northern and western parts. Into next week, those unsettled conditions are expected to continue in most parts, but drier, brighter conditions may gradually spread northwards as the week progresses. The driest and sunniest weather is most likely in the southeast, with the cloudiest conditions and most frequent outbreaks of rain over northwest Scotland. It may be rather cold at first, but temperatures will edge up to around normal over the weekend, and should then stay around normal for the rest of this forecast period.

it would seem to suggest they believe ECMWF more than GFS at T+240,

the first has milder air coming north the second has a nw-n flow.

Still rather surprising not to mention snow for the Scottish hills in the first part of the forecast

UK Outlook for Monday 10 Mar 2008 to Wednesday 19 Mar 2008:

Cloudy to start with showers or periods of rain, heavy at times with hill snow. There is a risk of snow falling to lower levels for a time. It will be windy and gales are likely, possibly severe in places. By mid-next week, conditions are expected to ease while remaining generally unsettled. Scattered showers are likely, particularly in the northwest initially, with longer rain spells mostly in western and northern areas. However, sunny or clear spells will become more frequent, especially in eastern parts. Winds will ease down and, while it will still be breezy, gales are less likely. Temperatures will commence next week lower than normal, but will rise to a little above normal during the week. Thereafter, both temperatures and rainfall are expected to remain close to normal.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 12 Mar 2008 to Friday 21 Mar 2008:

The middle of next week looks breezy and showery across the British Isles. The heaviest showers are likely in western and northern areas with more in the way of sunshine in the east. Temperatures will be around average for mid march. For the end of the week, it will remain unsettled and often chilly with some longer spells of rain at times for most places. Into the weekend, the signs are that it will remain unsettled and often cold, with spells of rain or snow - the snow mostly, but not exclusively, in the north. Night frosts are likely to affect many places during this period. Current indications are that this colder spell could persist through much of the following week.

Conditions at the end of next week are expected to remain unsettled with cloud and spells of rain, some heavy, across southern England and Wales. Further north will see a mixture of sunny spells and blustery showers, with wintry showers over hills. It will be generally windy with temperatures around normal. Next weekend and into the following week a mixture of sunny spells and showers is expected generally with wintry showers over northern hills. The driest conditions are likely in the southeast, and there is a chance that some drier weather may spread northwards more widely as the week progresses, although this is still rather uncertain. It will stay fairly windy with the strongest winds likely in exposed parts of Scotland. Temperatures will range from rather cold to around normal.

UK Outlook for Friday 14 Mar 2008 to Sunday 23 Mar 2008:

Conditions on Friday and into the weekend are expected to remain generally showery after any initial heavy rainfall clears southern Britain. It will start off windy, with the showers blustery and falling as sleet or snow on hills. Wintry showers could fall occasionally to lower levels too, with hail and thunder just about anywhere. Temperatures near or a little below normal. Into the following week, little change at first, although the showers may become more confined to the east and north with an increased chance of some drier weather and sunny spells in the south and west. Drier weather may become rather more widespread towards the end of the period but this remains uncertain, with the risk of further unsettled and rather cold weather returning to all areas.

UK Outlook for Saturday 15 Mar 2008 to Monday 24 Mar 2008:

The coming weekend looks likely to start off cloudy and wet over England and Wales, whilst further north will be colder with some showers, perhaps wintry to low-levels, and falling as snow on the hills. That colder, showery weather is expected to spread southeastwards across all parts during Saturday, with wintry showers on the hills of England and Wales. A rather cold or cold northerly airstream is then expected to dominate this forecast period, bringing sunny spells and showers with overnight frosts. The showers will be mainly over northern and eastern parts, and are likely to be wintry, with snow on hills. Elsewhere should see plenty of sunny spells, but isolated showers are just possible, mainly over western coasts. Rather windy at first, with winds then easing from the west.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 19 Mar 2008 to Friday 28 Mar 2008:

After a frosty start across England and Wales on Wednesday, outbreaks of rain across Northern Ireland and Scotland will spread southeastwards. Snow is likely over northern hills. This will clear southwards later Wednesday and during Thursday to allow several cold and showery days for all areas, lasting through the Easter weekend. Showers are likely to be heavy and prolonged at times and will be wintry, especially over northern hills where some accumulations of snow are likely. However, some drier and sunnier interludes are to be expected for the west and southwest. It will be windy, especially in the north and east, but will be frosty at night in shelter. During next week, little change is expected with cool north or northwesterly winds and a mixture of sunshine and wintry showers.

UK Outlook for Thursday 20 Mar 2008 to Saturday 29 Mar 2008:

Thursday will start cloudy and windy with rain at times, but the rain should clear southwards during the day. Thereafter, the Easter Weekend looks like being rather cold. There will be some sunshine by day, but also showers, and some of these will be heavy and wintry with snow over high ground, and perhaps to lower levels at times in northern regions. Winds are likely to increase to gale force at times, perhaps with severe gales for exposed parts, bringing possible blizzard conditions to Scottish mountains. Winds should ease later Sunday and Monday, bringing an increasing risk of overnight frost. During next week, the weather should be quieter for a time with sunshine by day and overnight frost, before, cool, windy and showery weather spreads southeastwards later.

UK Outlook for Sunday 23 Mar 2008 to Tuesday 1 Apr 2008:

A brisk northerly wind will bring cold conditions at the start of next week with a mixture of sunny spells and some showers. Those showers, perhaps wintry to low-levels and falling as snow over high ground, will mostly affect northern and eastern parts of Britain as well as any other north-facing coasts. Blizzard conditions are possible over the Scottish mountains. Conditions look set to improve from the west for a time in the middle of next week with drier, sunnier, less windy weather and daytime temperatures returning to around normal. However, some frosty nights are also likely. A return to more unsettled and rather cold weather is then expected later next week with showers and spells of rain, and a risk of further wintry precipitation, especially across northern Scotland.
