UK Outlook for Saturday 31 May 2008 to Monday 9 Jun 2008:

The coming weekend is set to bring a mixed bag of weather with some warm sunshine at times, but also some heavy showers bubbling up too, particularly in the south. The week after is set to see the arrival of the more traditional northwest-southeast split, often seen at this time of year. Many parts of England and Wales, particularly southern and eastern parts, are likely to experience some warm sunshine, and any rain is likely to come in the form of thundery showers; while further north and west, parts of NW Scotland in particular could see more in the way of cloud and persistent rain though some drier brighter weather is also likely here from time to time.

UK Outlook for Sunday 1 Jun 2008 to Tuesday 10 Jun 2008:

Sunday and Monday are expected to be rather changeable with a mix of warm sunshine and showers, though the showers heaviest and most prevalent in the south and east of Britain. Remaining generally unsettled across the United Kingdom during mid week with a mix of warm sunshine and scattered showers. The showers continuing heavy in places with a likelihood of local thunderstorms. Something of a change is likely from Friday onwards as it turns settled and warmer in the south and east, while more typically cooler and breezy in the northwest with spells of rain. Temperatures generally near to above normal through the period, though feeling on the cool side during more prolonged spells of rain.

UK Outlook for Saturday 7 Jun 2008 to Monday 16 Jun 2008:

Northwestern parts of the UK are likely to be rather cloudy and breezy with a few outbreaks of rain over the weekend. However, much of England and Wales, particularly southern parts, are likely to see drier conditions with plenty of sunshine, light winds and just the odd shower. This sets the scene for the rest of the period with high pressure expected to dominate the weather across many parts of England and Wales, extending into Scotland and Northern Ireland at times. Northwestern areas are at greater risk of seeing bands of cloud and rain from time to time though, while the rest of the UK should stay mainly dry and fine with some pleasant spells of warm sunshine.

yes, happy with that, for a variety of reasons, surface high pressure is more probable than low pressure as the major weather feature in the latter part at least of the period shown on that forecast

UK Outlook for Sunday 8 Jun 2008 to Tuesday 17 Jun 2008:

High pressure is expected to dominate the weather across many parts of England and Wales throughout the forecast period, especially southern and eastern parts of England. In these areas it will be mainly dry with plenty of sunshine, light winds and only the odd isolated shower. These settled conditions will also extend into Scotland and Northern Ireland at times, although in general northern and western parts of the United Kingdom are at greater risk of seeing bands of cloud and rain from time to time. The temperature will in general be around or above the average for June, although it will be locally very warm in the sunnier spots in central, southern and eastern areas.

I wonder if tonight's ECM is a spanner in the works for this Outlook or a model blip best forgotten by all?

Looking forward to seeing tomorrow's effort at lunchtime.

UK Outlook for Monday 9 Jun 2008 to Wednesday 18 Jun 2008:

High pressure will dominate much of the UK on Monday and Tuesday with weather fronts spreading across parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland. This will give periods of rain or showers in the north, with the brighter, drier weather in the south. A similar theme continues for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday with the brighter, drier weather in southern, central and eastern areas with showers or periods of rain in the north and northwest. Temperatures near normal in the north, slightly above normal in the south. Looking further ahead from Saturday through to Wednesday, the trend appears similar giving largely dry and bright weather in the south with the higher risk of showers in the north and northeast in a largely west or northwesterly flow. Temperatures continuing to be near normal.

sticking with their idea over the past 3 days at least, can't remember what they showed prior to the 5th Stuart, the first one on this page.

I would agree with their idea, cannot see much chance of any major change in that time scale from what they are suggesting.

UK Outlook for Sunday 15 Jun 2008 to Tuesday 24 Jun 2008:

Next week is likely to see quite large amounts of cloud and scattered showers or longer spells of rain. The driest conditions and best of any sunny spells are most likely over southern and western parts generally, although the southwest may see some rain at first. Otherwise, northern and eastern areas will see the most frequent showers and are at greatest risk of some more persistent spells of rain. Winds will be mostly light to moderate, although eastern coasts may be rather windy, with temperatures generally a little below normal, but rising to around or just above normal across western parts during the week. It is likely to remain unsettled with temperatures around or just below normal through the following weekend and into the next week too.

UK Outlook for Monday 16 Jun 2008 to Wednesday 25 Jun 2008:

Next week will start off rather cloudy with scattered showers. However, drier conditions and more frequent sunny spells are expected to spread south and east across most parts by midweek. Thereafter, most places should see some fine, dry conditions with sunny spells. However, northwestern areas will become more cloudy with showers or more persistent spells of rain, and these conditions are then likely to spread over western parts later next week. Similar conditions will persist into the following week with the most pleasant weather again likely in the south and east. Rather windy over eastern coasts at first and then in the northwest later in the period. Temperatures rather cool or near normal at first, but becoming warm in the south and east by the end of next week.
