UK Outlook for Tuesday 8 Jul 2008 to Thursday 17 Jul 2008:

The first half of the period will be generally unsettled with either showers or longer spells of rain at times, some of which will be heavy. There will however also be some drier and brighter intervals, especially in southwestern parts on Tuesday and in eastern areas on Wednesday. Southern and western areas are likely to experience some longer spells of rain on Friday and Saturday. As we move into the following week southern areas are expected to become a bit more settled with more in the way of dry weather and sunshine. However, central and northern areas are more likely to experience further showers or perhaps some longer spells of rain at times. The temperature will be generally near normal.

UK Outlook for Saturday 12 Jul 2008 to Monday 21 Jul 2008:

Generally unsettled through this weekend with showers across southern areas, some locally heavy and thundery, especially on Saturday. Drier in the north on Saturday with sunny spells and a few showers, before cloud and rain spreads in from the north-west on Sunday and edges southwards. The first half of the following week looks as though it will remain unsettled in the north and west with rain or showers at times, although becoming more settled in the south and east with a trend for longer dry spells with some sunshine. Temperatures near normal, although rather cool in showers and slightly above for some eastern parts later. There is a hint at the moment of a ridge building into the south for the second half of next week bringing more settled conditions.

UK Outlook for Saturday 19 Jul 2008 to Monday 28 Jul 2008:

Some sunny spells through the weekend but also cloudy periods with rain or showers, with the north most likely to see some heavier or more persistent outbreaks. South-western parts are less likely to see showers. Temperatures generally below normal and feeling rather cool. It may become more settled for a few days next week, with a hint of some drier weather possible across southernmost counties with temperatures recovering to nearer normal. The unsettled conditions are likely to continue across the north though with rain or showers and the most persistent and perhaps heaviest rain is likely across the north and north-west. There is a hint for the end of next week and into the following week of a ridge of High pressure in the south-west, although continuing unsettled further north.

UK Outlook for Friday 25 Jul 2008 to Sunday 3 Aug 2008:

After a dry and bright start in central and eastern areas on Friday, scattered thundery showers in the south-west are expected to spread northwards through the day, to reach many areas by the end of the day. There will be an increased risk of more widespread showers or even longer periods of locally thundery rain on Saturday too. It is expected to remain essentially unsettled from Sunday to Tuesday with showers or rain, although there should be some drier and brighter interludes. For the rest of the week, it looks as though it could be dry and largely fine in the south but more unsettled further north and west. Warm or very warm at first, but temperatures gradually lowering and becoming near normal from the west.

UK Outlook for Saturday 26 Jul 2008 to Monday 4 Aug 2008:

Thundery outbreaks of rain in central and eastern parts on Saturday will move away to be replaced by brighter, fresher conditions with scattered showers from the west. During Sunday and Monday many southern and eastern parts will see dry and fine weather with showers confined to the northwest. This sets the scene for much of next week, although from time to time further bands of potentially thundery showers could spread across all areas from the southwest. All in all, the best of the weather with the longest spells of sunshine in the next two weeks will be in southern and eastern parts, where temperatures will be warm or perhaps very warm at times. Temperatures in the north and west will be around or only a little above normal.

UK Outlook for Sunday 27 Jul 2008 to Tuesday 5 Aug 2008:

Rain across the far northeast clearing by Sunday morning, otherwise sunny spells and isolated showers. More frequent showers at times in the extreme west on Sunday which could be heavy. Through much of next week, the best chance of dry weather will be across eastern England. However, bands of potentially thundery showers could spread across many areas from the southwest at times, particularly during the first part of next week. Many areas next week will be warm, perhaps locally very warm However, more generally unsettled and cooler conditions are possible by early August with some heavy rain at times, particularly in the north-west. The driest conditions generally in the south-east though. It is likely to become breezy at times.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 29 Jul 2008 to Thursday 7 Aug 2008:

For much of the United Kingdom, the weather will remain very warm and humid for the rest of July with spells of sunshine, although a band of thundery rain is expected to spread slowly northwards across southern parts on Tuesday and northern parts on Wednesday. The last day of July and the first day of August look set to be particularly hot across southeastern Britain, while being significantly cooler and showery towards the northwest of Scotland and Northern Ireland. From this weekend onwards a trend towards more showery, fresher weather is expected, courtesy of a more westerly airflow. Even so, there should still be some pleasantly warm sunshine at times, especially across southern and eastern areas.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 30 Jul 2008 to Friday 8 Aug 2008:

For much of the United Kingdom the weather will remain warm and rather humid for the rest of July with spells of sunshine and a scattering of heavy and potentially thundery showers. Heading into the weekend, the weather look set to be become cool, breezy and unsettled in the north and west, with spells of rain. Still quite warm in the south and east over the weekend, though generally drier and brighter with a fresher feel. Beyond the weekend, the weather is set to turn cooler and increasing unsettled across all parts, with showers or longer spells of rain. Once again, the north and west will probably have the most unsettled and breezy weather next week, with southeast England fairing best.

UK Outlook for Thursday 31 Jul 2008 to Saturday 9 Aug 2008:

Initially the south and east will be mainly dry and very warm but outbreaks of rain and nearer normal temperatures in the west will have spread to most other parts of the country by Friday. Then the period Saturday through to Monday will be generally unsettled with either rain or showers in most districts. These will be heaviest and most widespread in the north and west whereas the driest and brightest conditions are most likely in the south and east. The temperature will be mostly around or slightly warmer than average. Thereafter it looks likely that the weather will move in from the west or southwest, with unsettled conditions prevailing. We can therefore expect either showers or spells of more prolonged rain, with temperatures close to or slightly below average.

UK Outlook for Friday 1 Aug 2008 to Sunday 10 Aug 2008:

Low pressure systems spreading in from the Atlantic will bring showers and spells of rain interspersed with some short-lived drier, brighter interludes generally through most of this period. The best of any dry, sunny conditions are likely to be across southern and eastern parts of England with the most frequent outbreaks of rain to be expected over northern and western parts of the UK, especially northwest Scotland. It will be rather windy at times, especially over northern Scotland and southwest England. However, there is a hint that conditions may become slightly more settled from the southwest towards the end of the outlook period. Temperatures will be generally near normal, but it should be above normal or rather warm in the southeast at times.

UK Outlook for Monday 4 Aug 2008 to Wednesday 13 Aug 2008:

Low pressure is likely to remain close to or over the United Kingdom for much of this forecast period. The weather is therefore expected to remain very unsettled with rain or showers at times. Some of the rain or showers are likely to be heavy and prolonged, with all areas at risk of some significant rainfall. Some of the rain may turn thundery on occasions, the risk being greatest for central and eastern areas. There are also indications that one or two days may become significantly windy too. Between the rain and showers, some sunshine is likely, and at times it should feel reasonably warm, but will be rather cool in rain. Later, there are hints that high pressure may become more dominant bringing more settled conditions to some areas.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 6 Aug 2008 to Friday 15 Aug 2008:

The weather look set to remain disappointingly unsettled and changeable throughout the period, with little sign of any prolonged spell of fine weather to come. A flow of air from the Atlantic will bring occasional showers, and at times longer spells of rain, to all parts of the United Kingdom. The north and west will probably receive the wettest weather, with the best of any sunnier weather most likely towards the south and east. It will also be rather windy at times in the south and southwest too. Temperatures will be generally near to below the seasonal average, especially in the north and west, though temporarily very warm in the southeast of England during the middle of next week.
