Also to note that we have another area of instability setting up over N Holland! This is going to be a good night, once again direction Yorkshire, 2nd only to the SE at the moment.

A good covering on everything at the mo

about 5-7cms

not bad for 40-50 asl

And if the current model output is to be believed, this is just the quick drink before the starter :D

Brian - huge shower about to hit you :o

Massive convection piling up now over the Yorkshire coast, to rival even what is in the SE. All areas of Yorks in the firing line.

Obviously the pics were taken before the 5-7cm fell?

Shortlived, sharp showers passing through regularly.

1-2cms depth.

Nothing happening just yet Dave, but the radar is looking very good indeed :)

I'd be amazed if there was 5-7cm. Looking at the accumulated totals from the radar, the only place with over 4mm is just S of York, whilst most places in Yorkshire have had about 3mm in the past 4 hrs. And even that hasn't brought more than 3cm!

Looking at the pics there seems to be about 2-3cm.

Sorry but you are most definatley wrong i would say 1-2cm, this is 10cm of snow (5th dec) and you are no where near even that,, with 5-7cm you would be close to this-

Lets hope those showers make it inland.Leeds has been quite for ages now

Snowing heavy here for past 10mins

The pic below is for the reply above "snowing heavy now"

Well the Durham snow shield had better be well-prepared tonight PP.

Quite a few snow showers in total here now, as you say activity will pep up as the night goes on...

Who's staying up btw?

I am.

Hope you post pics again Yeti.
