Oh come on that's a bit of an exaggeration I feel!

We (West Yorkshire) are definitely in the firing line of the large bank of cloud out in the North Sea....Reckon another couple hours before it hits land - but should be some fairly beefy showers asscociated with it, which should carry a long way in land!

Many people are going to be rather surprised tonight, considerable intensification is likely to begin within the next few hours. :)

Yeti that was funny!! (Private joke) :)

haha i couldn't resist and had similar inclinations for the Lancashire and Derbyshire threads.

We've had the heaviest shower so far here, we now have a good covering.

Just had a small snow shower here, small flakes and nothing much lied however i can now see more cumulus clouds towards the East and the latest sat images show that perhaps the instability is digging in as they are more 'bity' than before. If the GFS charts anything to go by, our snow risk timezone is between midnight until 3PM tomorrow perhaps so we just got to be a bit paitant.

Got about 2cm here on ground  , snowing on and off mostly moderate and moderate sized flakes :D , but is it enough to cause disruption for tommorow mornings rush hour? Also anyone in Leeds (close to the city center) got a covering? As normally close to the center of leeds there is no snow while higher up there is loads more.

No, not at all.

The wind picked up to 30mph and it was hammering it down. That's a blizzard. Only lasted about 5 minutes though.

Im up by the Uni. We have a dusting at the moment, nothing to be worried about. Most roads seem to be gritted and are snow free. Sporidic moderate snow showers but its very fluffy. ya id love to be in the country somewhere. That would be amazing. Is it cold enough for the city's heat island to be negated i wonder?
