Thing is mate, we just don't get the cold tempetatures anymore. People keep saying this better than 1991, complete rubbish. It was -4 during the day!!!

Aint that the truth - this spell so far hasnt even come close to that one sadly.

Ok - as good as 2pm and cloud cover seems a lot denser, distant hill and forest 'views' getting dimmer. Very tiny flakes of snow 'floating' down in a thicker shower. Occasional cold easterly gusts. I think we're in for a little flurry of snow?!?!?

No sign of anything sticking though...

For some reason, the area of snow showers around us have combined and intensified over North Wales and adding to the depth of the overnight snow.

Any reason for this?

Still snowing, and settled straight away... helped by the fact the temp is -2.3C. Some lovely big flakes to!

Still snowing....and getting harder...real big fluffy flakes and they are stickin....is this the start of the main event????

Still snowing here, but STILL light!

It looks like though on the radar that the next band is just going to join with the one we have at the moment to give more prolonged, and hopefully heavy, snow.

where is that information?

Anyone know what the showers are doing down in Cornwall. I'm wondering if it will be snow in St Austell as I promised somebody it would be lol. Still coming down in North Bristol and plenty more to come by the looks of it in a few hours.

Kumquat I'm getting reports from friends of colleagues at work that light snow is falling in various parts of Cornwall from Penzance to Bodmin, nothing major though.  I'm in Truro working today and we have had a very very light fall of grainy snow about 1/2 hour ago but the skies are now turning increasingly grey so maybe something a bit more substantial coming.

We've been having quite large snowflakes and almost blizzard conditions since 1pm and its intensified again. Nearly an inch on the grass but its not settling on the road and pavements (not treated). So it must be quite wet snow.

The temp is 0.5c so it just needs to get a little bit colder and then it will stick to everything!

BBC weather graphics are getting on my nerves. Keep showing the snow at around 8pm in S.Gloucs area and then it magically "Jumps" over to Cardiff and stays there all night!

Not fair!

Here at work (SY23 3BT) it's a snow shower now. Visible flakes (not big ones - about quarter inch), trying very hard to stick. Roads still crystal clear.

Yay heavier burst now and the pavements are starting to whiten up again, lets just hope it can keep it up - temps started to fall again hopefully can avoid it thawing once more.
