Just got back from work, Ilminster and surrounding area MAY have had the lightest of dusting's during the night, but further North towards Taunton and then down to Wellington it has seen nothing. Just a waiting game now.

If you look at the radar, the showers coming in from the East seem to split as they approach the West Country.

One band goes of to the North, the other to the South East.

Got a feeling what is about on the radar is dying out for a while before it picks up again later on,the echos coming out of France to our east is what we need to be watching now IMO

Just heard two climbers killed on Snowdon, thoughts with family/friends.

:D thoughts are with them.

Only got a light dusting here, maybe 0.2cm. Light grain type snow falling atm. Looks like the main ppn all but missed us ;)

I DON'T BELIEVE IT! Had some proper snow this morning. Its now snowing heavy and turning to sleet! and melting all the snow that fell earlier.

What is going on?? Hope it's not frozen rain as its -1c out there at the moment.

hi .. i dont normally ask the "will it or wont it snow question" BUT ... Im a palliative care nurse in the community, i work from 2200 hours all night, i get called in when someone is about to pass away, there are only 5 of us covering all of north devon north cornwall and somerset. So i really need to know if we are in for significant snow as i will have to relay it on to put something else into place for the patients and families.. SO we need as much info as you can give us.. Thank you

Flurries continue, some sunshine but also some heavier bursts of snow. Very cold indeed/

If this next blob of showers line up correctly it could give some of the west country around a 45 minute moderate shower, enough to make a covering.

Probs will miss us thought but I got my eye on it.

Which blob we looking at?

Nothing significant in Exeter, just occasional flurries. But the model outputs are suggesting that south-west England, unusually, is the most likely region to hold onto snow throughout when the main band comes in (as the pool of warmer air doesn't reach the SW before the low cuts it off), which is interesting to say the very least.

I don't expect many showers to make it over here today, but the main band currently over France should make it over.

Hmm, pressure has been steadily dropping over the last few hours, currently down to 998mb, temp holding steady at

-3.3C with the dewpoint well below -5C ... heres hoping.

Basically, yes.

I imagine that we won't necessarily see the precip coming across the channel as such it will just develop as the frontal band approaches land. It could suddenly develop so we'd better keep a close eye on the radar.
