This is a great start, bring on tonight!

Apart from a current temp of 0.9c not a blinking flake of the white stuff. Can just about see some clouds about 5 miles away in an otherwise clear sky. :)

Nothing here except a few grains blowing around in the wind. Anyone think we're going to get something later or will we miss out completely?

I'd be surprised if you don't see some snow later this afternoon/evening.

Edit: and now it is snowing here :)

I'd give it another hour jethro and you may be lucky.

A glimmer of hope - thank you. I used to live in Church Fenton, NE Yorkshire; bet they've had/will get a right pasting. Oh why did I move....

Just looking at the Traffic Wales cameras, and snow has reached Cross hands, but not Carmarthen yet.

GGrrr it must have bypassed here then. We are now having the lightest of flakes blowing in the wind.

Hmmppphh! 5 years ago I moved from Southampton to Milford Haven. I thought I was gonna see real snow for the first time in my life....

I was sadly mistaken. It's got an even warmer micro climate!

7 cm here in N Dorset and total chaos.

Is that a recent 7cm? It's falling quite steadily here now and the flakes are getting bigger.

Still nowt in Barry, always seems to miss us. Probably breaks up by the time it reaches us and being on the coastline does not help.

Why lol? Proper snow isnt even here yet

Because some of the bus routes travel on un treated roads, stupid yes, but that's the way it is.

Also they're probably not going to risk what happened a few years ago where it snowed heavy and everyone was in school as normal.

Not a sausage here! The ponds are all very frozen but the ground is bone dry and the sun is trying to break through... oh well, that'll be a NO event then. :o

Winds from just off N with the temp at -3.5C after an overnight low of -5.6C

Looking at the Met radar the echos off the NW coast of Devon and Corwall are intensifying and moving inland so you could see quite a bit from it.

As for the next 24/48 hours, I think it's fair to say that nowcasting is the way to go as most snow will come and go, and a matter of a few miles could make all the difference.
