Got heavy rainy sleety stuff now. Amazing that South Petherton is so close and much lower and is getting snow.

And another thing. The traffic camera we were looking at earlier:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/somerset/webcams/came...on=bbc_new_west

Looks like there isn't any traffic coming south down the M5 - hardly any tyre tracks!!

keep your fingers crossed mate long night ahead me thinks :)

Been an accident on M5 southbound between j24/25 and northbound between j27/26, not to mention the A38 closed in Devon trapping (reportedly) 200 motorists in deep snow at Haldon Hill

That'll explain it.

Just watching the BBC24 weather. The snow definately isn't going to go as far east tomorrow as forecast a few hours ago. That could explain way the ppn is still so far north and west. It looked like it could linger along the south coast (from about East Devon eastwards) for quite a long time tomorrow morning.

For once I'll take the BBC's view on this :)

I dont know how you people in Swansea are reporting heavy snow. I am in Cwmavon and here its light rain has been for about a hour. I am higher up than swansea

Snow here, it snowed heavy for much of the day yesterday, Langland bay and Llangennith beach had a covering

Hi and welcome.

Same situation here in newport. Roads look too wet for snow to settle

Exactly same here , its raining with the odd flake. God knows how swansea is snowing hard. Unless I am that close to the rain/snow border

The hills around me are probably nice & white though, just can't see them right now lol

Sorry to be a pain but can someone answer my Q about meteox radar. Is the blue showing snow or is the lighter blue sleet/rain? I am trying to understand what I am actually looking at.

Thanks.

No snow in Bridgwater at the moment. Though I *think* we will get the Exeter snow when it moves up. Please feel free to tell me I am wrong. As I said I am only in the process of learning this stuff.
