Interestingly, there is a secondary line of precipitation, fairly heavy but north of the main area.

As the system nudges north and slowly rotates anti clockwise as it goes, it puts this precipitation in line to reach me even if the main band doesn't get here. Yes, its got my name on it.

Chances of snow raise from 0% to 1%.

Perhaps edging 1.5% now I'd say. It certainly looks like things are further N than planned :yahoo:

Hopefully as it pivots it should counteract any Ewards movement, keeping us in it for longer.

Also it's pepping up on the Nern flank. Strange to see reports of rain though, these are mainly in the Vale of York because Wharfedale, here and the Nern (higher) parts of leeds are all reporting snow, so somewhere in the region of 100-150m snowline generally, descending in heavier precip.

Still coming down nicely here and settling everywhere.

This is very disappointing. I've just stook my head outside, and half of my lying snow

has gone already. I'm not happy :yahoo:

Must be fairly moderate rain Brian, if it is dissipating your snow that quick.

Reminds me of what I went through last monday when expecting a top up snowfall and it bloody rained. Could well happen again - if it even reaches here.

What is your temperature and dew point like?

Can you see the line I'm talking about Yeti? Its sort of limping in my general direction, sort of to the WNW, could be interesting later, although i fear its going to be marginal.

Blizzard conditions here now!

Only joking, moderate snow. Or are the two the same these days?

Btw Paul, I know what you mean... there is a chance but it's very small, remember the S of the front is moving E so it depends how much it pivots. Also, it just disappeared on the radar!

Yeah I'm relying on a lot of anti clockwise rotation to bring home the bacon on this one - wind is coming from the SE now so thats a plus, and yeah I noticed it disappear as soon as I mentioned it. Glitch I hope!

I really cant figure why you think its looking good. the temperatures are still rising and it's still raining, places further south are getting the snow, and in this area higher up. still think low areas are just going to see rain, there must be a lot of warm air mixed in with this low.

JB

bit pedantic of me but an anticyclone is an area of high pressure

a polar low is an area of low pressure

does look a touch interesting though

Yes it is Paul, I can hear the snow sliding off my roof as I type. I'm not sure what my temps

are I'll just check

Edit:

Well I know why it's raining here now. My temps are 2c, and my dew points are 2c
