Paul Hudson has surely been possessed by the malevolent spirit of Darren Bett right?

Snow about 5 miles to my S now

Much of Yorkshire to see at least something tonight.

I'd have to agree. Started as sleet and now looks like drizzle.

Dont worry, in about 40minutes it will be snowing, at my location we get the lowest temps first this feeds down to the lower elevations in Leeds, my current temp (remeber 210asl) is 0.1c with a dew point of -0.2c, in the lower elevations of Leeds the current temp is 0.9c with a dew point of 0.3c it will take time but it will defiantley start snowing again soon.

Use this to see temps in Leeds, click on the numbers to view the weather station at that point on the map(past & present) http://www.wunderground.com/wundermap/

Sorry to hear that, hope you're OK.

Looking better here now, what we are seeing are signs of pivoting in our favour as the front begins to tilt NW. This is what's bringing the snow further N. This was expected to happen around midnight but it's already happening

The front looks like it has hardly moved north in 2 hours!

Temperature 1.3º dew point -1.6º, and decreasing slowly.

Oh why am I bothering? Its not going to reach here in a million years :)

But just in case like.

Moderate snowfall here and lying.

Are you actually in Leeds mate? Only reason I ask is because the front doesn't even look that far north on the radar? Unless my geography is real poor.

The best thing about this is that the beeb/meto forecast wasnt showing any snow (for low lying areas) tonight and the gritter people will have gone home thinking a bit of rain nothing to worry about, the tmrw morning wide spread snowfall 10cm of roads as none of it has been gritted :p = no work or school :)

Atm there will probably be problems because the runway have not been gritted, BUT the current temp is slowly dropping but not at 0c yet (currentley 0.1c), this shud give them some time before the snow starts to stick properly (the snow is only sticking on icy/frosty patches atm).

If I'm not, I'm paying Council Tax to the wrong people :D Definitely in Leeds. Definitely snowing. Definitely lying. I didn't expect this at all - I don't think anyone did. If this low is doing something unexpected, there may be hope for you yet.

Don't worry I wasn't accusing you of lying I was wondering how accurate the radar was because I reckoned it didn't look as far north as Leeds yet. However, I overlaid place names and see its extent is actually York. So my geography is poor then.

It won't actually be that far away from Brian then.

Where abouts in Leeds are you? I can see some precip in the inner ring road lights but it looks like very light snow at best?

Sorry, got called away :)

Good to hear these snow reports coming in tonight. Does anyone know how far North the precipitation

is likely to reach? - it doesn't seem to have much progress since I last looked

Agreed about the rader. I went off to cook a meal because nothing was happening/likely to. Got up for a refill of chardonnay, looked out the window and it's snowing :) Thought I'd had too much chardonnay for a moment.
