The snow here has upgraded to medium intensity. :)

Pity its on its last legs though. :D:)

Yep, at last we have some real flakes.

Once this is passed keep an eye on the next bit further west. With a bit of luck it could give us a heavier shower later :)

Get ready for the T30 chart. It's a big one, cross everything.

Will Paul tall like or not like?

Have you seen the Sat24 pics? system looks further north than I anticipated.

Thats a HECK of a lot of heavy PPN over the Midlands though, if the BBC were actually correct it would be severe blizzards. However as you know.. I expect them to backtrack by tomorrow morning and issue rain for the Midlands.

I'm under precipitation so may get something.

Needs to be further north really, and that applies to Harrogate too, which isn't under the heaviest stuff either.

Not quite a bingo in my eyes, if you are looking for a real good dumping.

I think it would be just as pertinent to keep one eye on the Sat pics from here on in, to follow the track of the low.

I'm shocked too hear Hebburn has got nothing(its only literally a mile from where i live), either you havant been looking out your window or this is very localised.

I must stress that you got too look carefully too see any evidence of snow though, the flakes are small and its only a small dusting, hopefully we get the more moderate bit that everyone else is reporting soon.

A few more flakes are starting too come down here.

Sorry there mods got a bit carried away in all the excitement.

Very good news tonight re. the channel low, we now have this 50 miles further N and this is making all the difference. All models now are moving N in line with each other, except for one model which has remained steady throughout - the ECM. Now, this might make you think it must be wrong but IMO this may not be the case. All other models have shifted about a lot (and are still shifting) except the ECM which has kept consistent:

(chart of the day for Yorkshire and Durham): http://en.vedur.is/photos/atlant_evr_urkom...208_1200_36.png

We may see that this trend continues N and we see the ECM right in the end, on the other hand the ECM may back down. But its consistency must mean something and it is the most reliable model in general.

Other two great pieces of news tonight are the GFS 18z, which only needs another 20 miles for a snow fest for all of N Yorks even, and the UKMO, which is almost identical :D

What intensity is it Nigel? i would ideally want a bit more snow than my dusting of small flakes lol.

I suppose the dusting is 'thick' enough that its leaving tyre marks on the road so its not a patchy dusting.

Hi, Yeti ,

Do you think this will hit Tyne and Wear?

It's not only Durham that has been a snow dome unfortunately

Light to moderate snow now falling here, intensity has just increased in the last 10 minutes. Temp is -0.5. This is more that what I expected.
