...and now it's snowing again in Leeds. Moderate to heavy.

Where abouts are you Skywatcher?

Definitely a bit more of a sleety component in the city centre

Currently 1C outside (courtesy of the car) moderately wet snow, should be gone in a couple of hours.

Interestingly, there is a secondary line of precipitation, fairly heavy but north of the main area.

As the system nudges north and slowly rotates anti clockwise as it goes, it puts this precipitation in line to reach me even if the main band doesn't get here. Yes, its got my name on it.

Chances of snow raise from 0% to 1%.

The high res NMM model picks this up pretty well...

It shows it moving slightly further north before pulling away. Can't see it reaching you i'm afraid.

Also that NMM model shows some light showers pushing into the NE in the morning...

No its not going to reach me. Instead of continuing WNW as I had hoped its gone SW and dissipated a little.

Roundhay. And it's sleet again :)

Yes Roundhay is about 100m so i would say definite snow above 150m atm, hence snow in LBA, High Harrogate, Otley etc.

Well thats annoying- can snow really melt totally to rain just by falling 64 metres? I mean how long does that take? 10 seconds? 20? I'm convinced I'm caught under some kind of weird warm air pocket or something... either that or I'm just damn unlucky. (Still heavy rain here in case you didn't guess!!)

It can melt very quickly! Take a piece of ice out of the freezer and stick it in the fridge, it will go within 10-20secs, and snow falls very slowly.

The snow level will drop as the night wears on, but whether the precip will be with us is another matter.

Still pelting down with rain here, but it looks a lot lighter on the radar than it actually is.

I wish we'd had all this precipitation lastnight

There's a very cold wind blowing here in Crossgates. I think it's rain/borderline sleet. Nothing has settled on the company car which has been stood all day.

There's still snow here. Just gonna have a look out the back and see how much we still have.

97% of what has fallen has melted, everythings is either soaked thru or covered in REALLY wet snow. ITS MELTING.

Yes that's what I was thinking too

It's going to feel very strange when I wake up in the morning and everywhere is green again - I've had lying snow here for a week,

and I was beginning to get used to it.

Dunno really, surprised at that, it's coming down nicely here although thank God I just made it into the frontal zone, 20 miles to the N and it's been dry all night

Same here..although it was getting a tad annoying.

Heavy rain here and the lying snow is disappearing fast. Will be green or almost green by the morning.

EDIT:

Just seen the odd burst of heavy snowflakes on my CCTV camera.

Plain old rain here, although down here on the coast we weren't expecting anything more from this.

Yeah, that's just how I'm looking at it, I wasn't really expecting anything, so I don't feel let down. I'm a little bit disappointed that my

lying snow is being washed away so quickly though.

It's good that some of us have seen some snow this evening

I'm not too sure, we'll probably get a better picture in the Morning. Wednesday gives us another shot as well, but I'm not sure

whether those showers will get to you or not.

We'll see, at least there's something for us to watch again to keep these threads alive :D
