im sure that our areas in next two weeks has best chance to see colder weather, models look good to me :D

Yes, definitely, it certainly looks like the cold theme is going to continue, it's just the details really that need to be filled in.

It may turn out to be dry and cold, or we might have so much snow that we become sick of the sight of it

Nice pics Craig! Got about that heavy for a time here as well but not for very long, although moderate snow lasted for hours and hours.

Pretty good sized flakes coming down on Gosforth high street about 30 min ago on my drive to work. Just graupel on the A69 approaching the roundabout over the A1. The showers look pretty scattered, but at least they're there.

Yeah, it was quite a decent shower and lasted for about twenty minutes. Apparently it was snowing at around 10am, but I didn't witness

that one myself.

The sky looks pretty clear atm.

Morning mate,

Yes it was a nice surprise to see the snow this morning. Looking at the radar though, I don't think I'll be seeing much more today.

After the rain lastnight, I was surprised to find that I still had a decent amount of lying snow. I thought it would have all gone,

particularly when I saw how quickly it was disappearing.

It's looking good for a later on. It could be another late night

The gfs 06z ppn charts aren't really showing anything much tonight.

I've just been looking at this Craig, and we might be lucky. It's quite an interesting feature this.

If you run through the Model sequence it clearly shows how it crosses Scotland then runs down the Eastern side of the UK.

The only thing is, it arrives in our region during the early hours, so we might need the matchsticks :cray:

It drops into Lincolnshire, and then East Anglia after that. I'm not sure whether it will get West enough to affect you though

We'll probably have a better Idea this evening.

The system running down from Scotland tonight (some calling it a polar low) looks like it could actually deliver the first proper snow of the winter here. I am interested to see how acurate the GFS projection is compared to watching the radar later tonight.
