2 inches of fresh snow ain the last hour or so here in Hexhamshire. If met radar right would expect around 8-10 inches more here on top of the 22 still here from last week! Would put it at about 30 inches but the south gets it worst!!!! Amazing really. Hill fell outside already had a few skiiers and boarders on it! May join them later :wallbash:

nigel

Hi nigel, sorry to hear you are stuck out home with flu or the like,I must say that after we had missed all the action I thought our turn had gone but we already have had a fair covering in the last hour-probably 4cm and there is more to come. The temperature has risen however to 0.2c. Its just a pity that it is going to signal the end of the current cold spell. Lets hope for a cold and snowy first 2 weeks of March and then some nice spring weather, cheersd Mike.

Hi all,

This snow has surprised me a little - no weather warning from Met Off yesterday?

About 2cm in Hexham so far and still falling fast - looks like more to come on Radar.

Temp approx. 0.6C at present and rising so could turn a little slushy later? I'm at 140m so above me will be great but lower may turn wet? This spell has been great and hopefully shut up the "we will never have snowy winters again" crowd for a while. We have had lying snow for 11 days now.

I'm off to take a few photos.

John

Just started to snow here but not yet heavy enough to lay.

There is a patch of snow in my back garden which has been there for 12 days and will probably be replenished with this fall. If it hangs around for much longer it's going to form it's own glacier :wallbash: !!

Snowing, I believe the scientific term for it is, "like billy-o", in Newton Aycliffe at the moment :wallbash:

starting to get a covering, not deep, but if it keeps up for a few hours... ;)

Met office have managed to forecast a snow event as it happens?!?!?

Getting "warmer" here quite quickly now +1.0C so wouldn't be surprised if this turns to sleet/rain later especially at lower levels.

John

Must be doing something in Carlisle - radar looks like precipitation on top of you?

Moderate snow still falling here and the temperature has dropped to 0.1c. The main road to Scotland over Carter Bar which runs past my house is pretty well covered now so save any rise in temperature we may well see our heaviest snowfall for 3 years.

I have to say, I absolutely love how the radar is looking atm :) I'm sat right under the heavyish precipitation, and it looks like

there's more to come, behind that, too :)
