This is incredible stuff. It's been snowing now continuously since 11am, and it's getting

thicker :D We're getting a pasting.

It's taken me an hour to travel from School, which is only four miles away, because we got

stuck trying to negotiate the hill, and had to turn around.

I'll be uploading some pictures shortly

Very poor tbh, none of the snow settled (was in lower elevations of leeds when snowing) it was moderate snow for a time then soon went back to light snow on and off :D . At around 2:30 it began to rain!!! Fortuantley it quickly turned back to light snow. When i mad it back home there was the slightest of dusting on the lying snow but it was the hail stuff, started snowing here now quite light and a crappy :D

This is all kinds of awesome

Started 1100 and is now heavier than ever, at least 3 cm on the ground.

In Strensall!?!

Somebody wake me up.

Yeah, i never expected this 'round 2' belt of snow, i thought when it was getting lighter that will be it so this is all an added bonus. <_<

Its nice to be one of the snowiest locations for a change.

too right mate, sick of all them southeners with their snow. was our turn today like, no doubt it wasnt bigged up by the bbc as a big event as their so biased towards the south lol.

met office still forecasting for heavy snow at 18:00 the radar looks decent for at least another hour or two hopefully

Precipitation is following a NW to SE track and the heaviest seems to be passing us a few miles to the east. Which is a bit of a bummer.

Some favoured spots will be well over 10cm in a couple of hours I'd have thought.

Still not satisfied with this cold snap for where I live.

The synoptics have never really favoured our region; albeit the hills to my west are doing pretty good. I'm just annoyed really that even Bristol has had more snow than here in lowland Durham.

Not satisfied and just want mild weather now.

Hee Hee, toys? Prams?

Lol

Stopped snowing now, its looks like too me its raining lightly now however it is sleety so it would not take too much for it too turn snow again. Looking at the radar, this could be it and to be honest i just hope it clears Southwards now.

Nice pics Cloud_10 and GMG - shows that we got more than just the 'dusting' we were predicted, i think the GFS called this one correctly again.

Looks like this has been a classic snow event out of no where, I can't really remember models really doing much with this system even 24hrs ago but in the end its turnt out to be a decent enough snow evnt for some parts of eastern UK.

At last we have had some snow worh talking about up here in Northumberland and the kids have made the most of the schools closing early. Got about 3 inches deep which is not bad considering we are only a mile from the sea.

Yes, it's looking like there will be no school again tomorrow - there's no way the school bus

will manage on the roads around here. I was struggling when there was half as much snow.

My children will be thoroughly disappointed :shok:

Its turned to rain here now,but you should hold on to snow for a while yet.

Must be honest i didn't see this coming on the models,to busy looking for the next cold spell. <_<
