Been home from work since about 4 at it was a bit sleety

then had a hail shower which put a slight covering down and......................

it has started snowing quite nicely in the last 10-15 mins and put a covering down including cars, grass and side roads

not bad for my height and was not promised it also!!!!!!!!!!

Does anyone know, whether the snow is likely to turn to rain here? I've not had chance

to look at any charts or forecasts today.

I doubt it will tbh, because ive been checking the weather stations around Leeds and they are showing a rise in Temprature but dew points are dropping like a stone, which seems very odd, but dewpoints are the main factor for snow!! Current dew point -3.1c

B) Yeah that's what I did. I had no idea it was going to turn out like this

What a bizarre day... at work in leeds centre apart from a heavy burst at 11am its just been flurries all day with no accumulation. Here, 7 miles east, I get home to heavy falling snow which has given about 1cm.. but on the already laying snow and ice there is a good 3cm extra fluffy stuff on top! Big suprise after paul hudson's forecast last night and it's still coming down so I'm happy!

Just been outside for another look, and we're definitely talking inches, rather than

cm's - this is looking like being the best snowfall, so far, this winter.

I reckon the further east you are the better for the snow to stay as snow through the evening,as the temps and dewpoints are lower,so hopefully the mild sector won't make it to far east.
