UPDATE: Live on HTV West just now. Reporter from Birdlip in Gloucstershire; it was snowing v.heavily.

Anyone on here from Glos, who can tell us exactly where Birdlip is? Is it high up?

It is the highest point of the Cotswolds. Busy A417 runs over the top so traffic choae looms if that carries on. Birdlip is approx 2 miles from cheltenham

I think we (well, I) have a long way to go yet.

This is going to last well until the early hours for our region and there is the potential for plenty of wintery weather yet.

IMBY it's been raining pretty much non stop for about 12 hours now! Temp and dew point stuck at 3.8c/2.7c repectively for the last 3 hours.

On a national note, it looks like the ppn has got as far north as it's going to get.

Very heavy sleety rain in Stroud at the moment, still not shifting lying snow much though! Will post again if it turns to snow.

All....Read Roger Smith's latest update (posted 10 mins ago) in the 'Watching the Channel Low' thread. Predicts main event for much later this eve. Patience is required me thinks.

Roger's posts last week were v.accurate.

LIVE now on HTV West - reporter again from Birdlip - looks alomost blizzard-like there right now!

anyone got the LongElevns river webcam addy

temp 2.8

slightly more wet snow than rain now

No, but just got back from work that way and teh roads are very wet, theres massssive puddles on the sides of the roads and the central barrier's on the dual carradge ways are puddles also, I would expect that stream to be quite full right now.

Flood water is causing problems for motorists around the county this afternoon.

Stroud Road is down to one lane in Gloucester at the junction with Grange Road as flood water runs off Robinswood Hill, making driving conditions unsafe.

One man had to be rescued from his car by emergency services after becoming trapped by the fast flowing water.

Two Mile Lane at Highnam is also closed due to flooding.

The A40 at Northleach is seeing slow traffic both ways between the A429 junction and the A361 High Street junction in Northleach, because of flooding.

There are also reports of problems on the A4173 at Brookthorpe at the Upton Lane junction being caused by surface water.

There have also been reports of problems in the Stroud area, and of heavy traffic on the A46 at Ashchurch.

Flood Watch warnings have been issued for the River Leadon in the west of the county, and on the River Windrush in the Bourton-on-the-Water area.

Crap, I gotta go up robinswood in a bit to get my olther half.
