It should start falling more rapidly soon

3.3c here with dew at 2c.....once dews are another degree or so lower and temp under 2c we should start to see it turning sleety....thats if the heavier precip ever makes it here

SK

You dont sound very confident dont worry it's a cert that we'll get snow tonight just don't know what time it will fall yet. :D

I think temps seem to be responding well at the moment

Gloucestershire - Road blocked on Two Mile Lane both ways between the B4215 junction and the A40 junction in Highnam, because of flooding.

A40 Gloucestershire - Slow traffic both ways between the A429 junction and the A361 High Street junction in Northleach, because of flooding.

and we have hrs to go

temp falling 3.2

we have very wet sleet....virtual rain....but on my car you can see the detail of flakes.if that makes sense

Winter storm ... my arss

Piddly widdly light/ moderate rain here + light winds.

Overly cautious forecasts me thinks.

Its one of those nights where it will just get cold enough but by then the skys will have cleared.

Its not happening (swansea anyway).

Bah humbug , ive seen bigger storms in the toilet pan!

I want strong siberian winds , proper snow , with temps of 10 below during the day and Ray Mears to build an igloo in my garden.

0.7c here and settling dryer snow smallish flakes but it`s a very good sign.

I hope we dont get smallflakes because they are useless at giving accumulations!

Hey there had much snow in tetbury over the last week, I lived there for over 15yrs and can remenber many a memorable snow event for the town 91 and 2000 springs to mind

I used to live in conygar road number 40 opposite northfield garage. :D

Temps falling rapidly here little rissington reporting 1.5c although I think the car thermometer is faulty it was reading 3.5 half hour ago it's colder than that :cold:

You could say that we had 2.4 inches on Wedenesday when we weren't forecast any. In total there was about 16 inches last week. Snowing heavy now in Tetbury

Just been out and wish I hadn't, it is absolutely POURING with rain and freezing cold with it, the snow is still there, but on the road with water pouring down it, its just on the sides and middle with streams where tyres have been. Its very surreal out there, and did I mention freezing?! :cold:

I don't think you would be saying that if you were to the south of this depression - Winds already gusting over 100 Km/h on the French coast.

I'm hoping that the latest BBC24 weather is going to come off. It gave Somerset & Dorset a good chance of 4/5 hrs of snow. :cold:

I know we should sometimes take the BBC snow forecast with a pinch of salt but they can't be that wrong can they.

Trouble is this could be quite a localised event, meaning a few miles could make all the difference, as I found out on Friday with nearly all places within about 8 miles seeing snow but not me.
