Heavy rain out here in West London (W11) has eased off. Got quite heavy for a time & came out of nowhere.

Seems as though as the front moving up from France hits land that the air front is de stabilising.

Very encouraging for those of us in the SE. We may get a late show going by the radar and the track the storms will take

That narrow area of rain west of London seemed to appear out of nowhere overhead. It was briefly heavy with big drops but light now. The temp is still dropping, now 18.4c and RH 87%

Yeah, came out of nowhere that. Definitely unstable out there.

Its, oh, so quiet, shh shh

Its, oh, so still, shh shh

You're all alone

And so peaceful until... h074.gif

All the birds have gone dead quiet (including the normally noisey local seagull population) and they are all facing SW. 'Tis a sign I tell thee! Very hot and oppresive here, I'll be glad to drive back to Eastbourne shortly and possibly look to get up on the Downs to see if things move in over the IOW later.

Birds are quiet here too..........................hiding no doubt.

However, the Cat [one of them] is still outside lying on the patio gasping, poor thing, being a long hair he suffers more.

He's very good at knowing when it's about to rain, so I'll wait and see when he deigns to come indoors.

I would love a thunderstorm here but to be honest I just want some rain to cool the air! Currently 27C in my room and it didn't get below 26C last night so it feels very uncomfortable and opressive. I'm encouraged by the reports of rapidly falling temps in Sussex/Essex though. :)

Hi

Been raining here for about an hour or so now.

Nothing heavy just steady rain.

21c and still humid. Did reach 25c just before the rain set in.

Just had a look at latest Meteox predicted 3 hour rainfall sequence and its looking to expand the heavier ppn into E.Sussex, W.Kent and eventually

Essex. Looks like E.Kent could take a side swipe later on in the evening. How much thunder will there be though, $64,000 dollar question?

Regards,

Tom.
