We have had moderate rain here on and off most the afternoon.

Looks like I might be slightly to far West to see the best action.

Much the same here only it's been mainly light, hardly enough to dampen the roads. Typical though, just enough east for rain but just too far west for thunderstorms!

Do you have Jane Louise's phone number? I can sympathise totally. Light rain above, all happening East of me.

Dark skies and can even see the towering clouds between the breaks...

ARRRGGGHHHHH!!

Phil.

Same here, been watching this line 10 miles to my east for ages now, not heard a single rumble of thunder here. I think I am to far west.

:hi::rofl:

To the guys East of West London and most parts of the South East.....I have a bad feeling that today is NOT Going to be our day, there seems to be a lot more Stable Air currently in the South East and the CF Is just not shifting, if anything it stays as a Stationery Front and pushes back a little way westwards (As per the Meto Fax from Tuesday) so I cant see anything unless it is rogue appearing for us and France is not looking good atm.

Even the Surface Low that was shown on the Models looks to be trying to form West of Cherbourg at the Moment which is pivoting the Rainband North of Cherbourg more to the North of just West of North!

Paul S

NW radar shows some light blue in parts of Essex and Suffolk.

You will get a Storm Today Pat!!!!

Looking to the North East from London the skies have darkened a bit towards Suffolk and Essex but nothing is getting organised at the moment, but something rogue and using the UHI Could explode more esp to the North and East of London like usual

So here in Notting Hill (East West London - if that makes sense) do I stand a decent chance? I have a feeling it will be further West than me.

Mid level convection has got rather deep to my S,SW and W, t'is getting rather dark and aircraft from London city are flying all kinds of odd paths, always a sign that they know there is a bit more oomph in the clouds.

Think I'm going to wait awhile before I start to chase with these storms drifting through Dorset.

Seems to be some intense stormes leaving NW France at the moment and may be heading my way and there don't seem to be much electrical stiff out to my east at the moment.

I'm staying put for now

Could the mass of rain/storms moving up this evening help destabilise this mass of air?

I am hoping that something comes of this - I am quite confident this rain as it moves up, will go bang - I will probably see flashes to my W too.

It is so hot and oppressive, it just feels as if we DESERVE this, lol

Think London and Westwards will be more favoured from anything that drifts up from the Channel, but as Joe says Something trying to form North of London at present so it's watch the radar time.

Indeed, however in the UK it would seem that the hottest places don't get the storms whilst the 'cooler' places do. Not that people in the SE can complain mind you, whenever storms reach your location they do tend to be more spectacular.

Some impressive radar returns at the moment, no doubt there will be some flooding in places this evening with the heavy rain/storms around.
