looks like Bristol might get hit with a potent cell though its not electrical yet

I think the sferics in that batch are becoming a bit more widespread

This is going to be an interesting, if potentially very disappointing, radar watch today/this evening.

Between the Oxford storms and the main pulse leaving N France, there are clear lines of very intense downpours/thunderstorms, which are going to bring a lot of CS residents joy in the next few hours.

What is also interesting, is that the pulse leaving France is spilling Eastwards - whereas late morning it looked like it was going to miss the SE, since then there is a definite E extension to it. As to how far it will spill E, and how much it will intensify is anyone's guess. I have a feeling though that the mass leaving France could well explode like the rain last night, and the rain/storms earlier this morning now affecting Oxford.

If this low/thundery low develops across N France this evening, this too could throw more ingredients into the mix, and POTENTIALLY trigger yet more thunderstorms which may move up!

A bit widespread, Dogs...

Have you seen the 13:30 radar??

SE are going to have some fun I think.

Can see the low base cloud right above me as I spea type. Not seen since June 2005 when all hell broke loose after 5pm.

Could prove to be a very interesting afternoon. smile.gif

If anyone who is in the firing lines tonight does not have net-w extra and wants to test my account out (only 1 person please) you must be reputable user with posts. If you like it then you can signup for your own (for one night only btw) i have a couple of friends on here (R0b, SUFC) so all you have to do is ask.

OK, apart from that, I reckon its alright! :)

I was actually Joking, more or less spot on but you cant see the humber on that map :) !!

I get that horrible feeling that we will just get the rain again and the electrical activity will be to the east and north of us!

Does seem to be a pattern for this time of week doesn't it!biggrin.gif

Very warm and humid here too. I think that Brighton westwards has a good chance of some thunder today - Billingshurst looks pretty well positioned.

The latest radar shows plenty of activity coming out of northern france and making a beeline for central southern partssmile.gif
