Another Big cell just exploded to the West of Crawley (Sussex) and another not so big shower getting going to the West of London, these all along the CZ As aj says, with darkness in about 90 minutes this could get interesting!

Paul S

will the lack of sun prevent a cloud build up though Paul?? :yahoo:

We had sun pretty much all day as did many other parts , temps responded as such... The conditions are good

These showers are the result of WAA (Warm air advection)so they dont rely on Solar Input and the A Cas that starts them should keep them going until the CF Moves in and pushes the unstable air away.

To my W, still bubbling Cu. Overhead, patches of Ac among the blue sky. To my S and SE however, the sky is so hazy and milky I can't actually see cloud structures at all...sometimes, this is a promising sign :yahoo:

EDIT - I can see the big Cu's over Sussex - has been part of the same line throwing up BIG clouds now for the last couple of hours...I agree Paul, once the sun goes down, this could become more exciting :yahoo:

This is SSW of me about 2 mins ago ,very pleasant

I saw that cloud Paul, but nothing came of it! Good towers going up all around but they don't seem to have the final oomph! (if you know what I mean!) :yahoo:

You can't post wild things like this westsussex1 lol

Is this a confirmed visual, or growing excitement with anticipation?

Lots of Cu bubbling up here, with grey bases, as expected.

For some reason, I'm not expecting anything, though can feel some excitement brewing.... :yahoo::yahoo:

Still clear here, but some cloud in teh distance to the South. Temp down to 16.4 Humidity 82% and Dewpoint at 13.3. Feels very muggy, but I think I'm about 30 miles too far North for anything, let alone a storm

somewhat off topic for this particular thread, but have a look at the SAT24 infra-red imagery for Italy, spectacular images of Cb anvils being sheared!
