David Braine going for -5c overnight tonight down here.

Wintry showers over the Scillies! You couldn't believe it!

Snow saturday night into Sunday for Devon/Cornwall. Bit unspecific as it was just the casual one picture one day sort set up.

A better forecast me thinks!

Another trickey Dickey larry let down of a forecast for the west country! unsure.gif

Mainly rain/ maybe sleet snow on eastern flank but likely to turn back to rain. cray.gifcray.gif

I am starting to really dislike the man these days....huh.gif

Crikey it's not even 19.00 yet! The cloud will clear and temperature plummet. Remember that the minimum usually occurs just before or at sunrise and that's over 12 hours away!!

I know but it makes it hard to reach my goal which was a guess of -7c wallbash.gif

Dogs what do you reckon?

If I had to bet, I would say that we will have 2cm of level laying snow on Sunday morning.

Richard anguin aka trickey dickey said rain turning to snow but then turning back to rain in the east of somerset/bristol and glouc ect

I really don't understand that man though, i understand he is a mild ramper but his profile indicates that he prides him self on local weather knowledge blah blah but never says things like snow likely above 150m or mendips/exmoor could get a pasting. diablo.gif

He upsets me on a daily basis almost.lazy.gifcray.gif

BBC Spotlight (Devon/Cornwall/ Channel Islands etc) was going for overnight lows of -5C tonight with max of 2C tomorrow for my area and then snow overnight saturday and sunday... not going to complain at that forecast.

Didn't mention the word rain/sleet.

Hell, even the coastal forecast was for wintry showers and the Isles of Scilly, which are usually positively tropical.

TRUTHFULLY..I reckon it will go either way here..

If it happens then 6cm-12cm

If not snow sleet then rain

But I reckon if it stays as snow IT wont be a dusting...

The reason why is what's happened over the last 35 yrs of snow events from this direction for Chelt...

Unless Global cooling as interfered :yahoo:

IM VERY OPTIMISTIC

EDIT cheers Dartmoor

I still think that when it comes to PPN and how much will fall, you really cant tell until a few hours before.

Things still can change for better or for worse, I'm feeling optmistic though :) I just want to see settled snow for the first time this winter

They are always hammered down at the Lizard... you should try the cider they have on tap at the campsite down there! A very good May BH weekend was spent there this year... if I remember correctly... and chances are I don't. :D

I have a good feeling about this weekend!

slightly worrying temperatures on the 12z when the band passes through of 4C max and 1C min for Bristol at midnight. Maybe why BBC are hedging their bets??

It must be a fairly warm sector for the front to fall as rain tomorrow night, temps are low and staying low up to the front coming through.

But our mate Richard was havin none of it. Rain all the way for me then.

there's lots of different opinions out there about this front for Sat/Sun

very confusing cc_confused.gif

It's a nightmare isn't it, I am just ignoring them all, & prey that it falls as snow.

At least it coming after dark, which might help make it less marginal.
