Evening all,

Just been catching up on the posts someone had mentioned it won't snow here on the coast?? Can someone tell me why please???

I still have laying snow on roofs, gardens everywhere and ice everywhere else

Temp is -2.7c and dew point - 4.8, never been above freezing all day

Could someone explain why please ???

Thanks in advance

Donna-m

Quote from North East thread

This is the heavliest snow I have seen since FEB 1991

If the intensity of the band can be kept up as it comes south, and the north sea can maybe intensify it a little bit aswell, it will be a very interesting night ahead of us

That is the meteox radar trying to predict where it will go. But in the past i have found it is unrealiable. I tend to look at a live radar or bbc normally get it right.

agree, but this is still showing North/South > http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/radar/index.html and if your confidence wants boosting you could always try Netweather Extra's Radar. it updates every 5 minutes :(

Been a quiet day here with temp a high of -1.3c currently -4.3c with a dew point of -5.6 . . . clouds starting to appear not sure if its just high thin clouds as day light is fading but cannot see anything on the radar to suggest anything likely to fall any time soon.

yeah, i am up for another 12 hour shift at 0430 tomorrow, so although i love the snow i am not convinced i will get to work for 7 in the morning tomorrow. london transport is dire when it gets bad weather. although i suppose the guys driving the buses have the same problems of getting into work as anyone else :)
