quite possibly, but, it still doesn't mean the SE won't get snow. and as always, the Met O are always on the ball when it comes to upgrading their warnings. so still the chance of flash warnings to be issued. even so. they are always forecasting 10-15cm for the SE overnight and may feel that is not "heavy" enough for a warning. but its still enough to give a nice covering in the morning to wake up to :(

Lets hope so, I'm all for some more snow!!

well when it snowed here this morning it was -1C and 100% cloud cover

the important figure is the dew point. as John holmes always explains in his responses to "will it snow" the temps can range from plus to minus but its the dew point that makes it critical as to whether we get rain/sleet/snow :(

lookey here > http://forum.netweather.tv/topic/27989-how-to-try-and-forecast-snow/ :)

Well latest METO radar suggests it moving Eastwards(ish) and is heavier towards the Eastern side of it.

That suits me, I'll be on the eastern side!

I'm near Tunbridge Wells and can say that this is all true. My lane is still virtually impassable without the right equipment. Coverered in thick snow. Everything still laden. Photos uploading.

Some very heavy snow in Newcastle atm, according to the latest radar. Looks like EA will be in the firing line for this snow

I was out in it for over an hour yesterday and almost that long today - I'm in a wheelchair and I feel the cold, but, with being well wrapped-up, I found it very pleasant indeed, especially today with drier air and only my fingers felt coldish when I came indoors again. This is indeed the sort of cold we so rarely get in this country - a true polar continental or polar dry cold. The last time I remember it like this was early in the decade with perhaps an inch more snow than now (perhaps one of our statistical experts might know which year that was), and, before that, 1995 which I remember well. Cherish your memories of this, mes amis. :):)

  • April 2024 - Was it that cold overall? A look at the statistics

General perception from many is that April was a cold month, but statistics would suggest otherwise, with the average temperature for the whole month coming in just above the 30 year average for the UK as a whole.
