Looking at the warnings and Peteborough is in the bullseye.

Note heavy snow is mentioned in Peterborough with falls of 10cm. The other warning areas just says rain turning to snow. This is what the GFS indicated earlier!

Chucking it down with rain in North BTL;the odd flake, but generally all rain. The milder air seems to be on the march northwards into the Midlands for now. Things could change i suppose.

Plus, our local BBC forecaster, has been posting on a regular basis in the south west discussion thread and we had a warning for Monday Evening this week for snow, which we didn't have. He explained that these warnings go out from the MetO with a 50 mile margin of error. So be prepared for some letdowns as well. Cheers

Not a good sign, although I suppose altitude isn't on your side.

Oh god, there must be a mistake, Leicester has a warning for rain, turning to snow! :cc_confused:

Must say though, the pptn looks to be going West of Leicester... though I haven't actually looked what track it's meant to take.

I don't understand how the East Midlands can get warnings for 5-10cm, they will miss the heaviest of the PPN!

No warnings for south Wales, but ummm its snowing even at lower levels here and sticking on top of what we already got. Theyve got it very wrong, instead of temps being 5c they are 0.6c here.

This will be one of those situations where it could be snowing heavily in one place whilst another has a horrible wintry mix. I'd suggest that places that are still below 0C right now probably have a reasonable shot at getting some snow, places that are above are probably going to start with snow then much comes down to the exacts of the location itself...
