Looks like showers will be finally reaching East Yorkshire, we have had quite a few showers tonight with some big flakes, mostly light to moderate in intensity.

I've been looking at the radar and have noticed those massive showers just north of Newcastle. What are the chances of those hitting us, they seem to be moving down in a northeasterly direction.

Temp 2.4c, dew -7!!!

Not really good for snow, probably hail and lying snow seems unlikely with temps so high.

I'd be surprised if you saw lying snow, even if you did briefly temps would rise after the showers and any dusting would melt. I think you're best chance would be a sustained shower feed with only brief interludes between the next shower, but that seems unlikely looking at the radar.

With a north east feed, why is is so warm here? It wasn't last time. Happy New Year everyone`drinks.gif

Heavy snow flurry just now which has left a nice dusting here.

One thing I have noticed on the rain today radar is that the showers are now more of snow and less of hail/sleet if the precipitation type can be trusted.

Looks like it's heading straight for me,although it will probably weaken a little if it makes it.

Mate, i cant see it loosing intensity, the strength of the winds in this is wow, i could have sworn they was a blue flash, most probably a firework though, making it so hard to verify it lol.

Should be with you shortly.

Enjoy

Happy new year.
