Well first of all a Happy New Year to you all!

Here in Wortley we have a sugar coating on the ground. Nice to see coming down as we watched the fireworks over Leeds city centre. I was thinking about going to bed but that disturbance that has formed to the east of Scotland has got some good rotation and is really beefing up the showers which are making there way slowly towards the north of our region. Is it worth giving it a an hour or so to see if it increases shower activity on Yorkshire or is it just expected to fizzle away to nothing before getting here?

Regards

Craig.

showers are really rolling off the N sea now and intensifying all the while

:wallbash:

Yeah they sure are mate, although that shower that you had seems to be struggling to make it here. The radar certainly looks better than i thought it would though.

Nothing will fizzle out now, they may die back to the coast around 5-6am, but when that happens there's a trough heading down from the North, the big chunky showers u see east of Scotland is what will get us mid morning - this afternoon, and i think it will bulk the showers up now.

Happy new year mate , and all the best :wallbash:

I doubt there will be much in the way of snow cover tomorrow morning, the showers on the coast won't deliver as the temps are too high, and there aren't many showers.

Our only chance is the activity over the far north east of england, but thats a long shot.

Since when was a temp of 1c and dew -2 too high? my dusting has not even melted mate, i'm surprised myself lol. But it's sticking.

And will continue to do so as the showers pile in.

I'm using rain today and it looks like most of the activity will soon be over as there is a large gap which is moving south.

But 10123 the issue is not over whether its gonna be sleet/rain/snow the issue is lack of shower activity. :yahoo:
