I've got -12c on my Vista widget. Was -13c an hour ago.

This morning at 8.45 widget read -14c, by 11.15 it had jumped -3 but by 14.00 is was reading -8c!!!

Anyone know exactly how this works? Doesn't seem to pull in the reading from the Airport or Woodford which are the nearest stations, although being close enough the readings are often similar.

There's a weather station up at Hulme library, this is where that reading is from I suspect. Been to the water park? Idiots cycling over the frozen lake.

Neighbour's thermo read -11 at about 7pm this evening...blankets for the hens then.

It's risen a degree here, from -13c to now -12c - Can't say I've noticed the difference lol

Looks like the focus will switch to the East and South East over the weekend, and maybe some central areas. I think the North West might catch a little of the snow, but nothing like they are going to get in the South.

Them showers in the NE seem to be grouping together. Look like they have a bit of energy about them too but I guess once they have gone through the NE and Yorkshire and over the Pennines if they make it they won't have much left of them?

Hi - forgot about Hulme to be honest - probably from there then.

Not been to the waterpark but took a long walk towards Stretford along the Mersey and then a quick pint or 3 at Jackson's Boat earlier. I was pulling my daughter on a makeshift sledge so worked up quite a thirst!

If people are cycling over the lake then wont be long before the inevitable happens.

Actually doesn't feel that raw out, just popped to the shop. Had three jumpers on though!

Im colder than you for once. Max of -4.5c and currently -9.9c.

Yep! I'm actually quite jealous . This is where a bit of height is a disadvantage I think, because as the cold air sinks lower towards manchester (thanks to the widespread snow cover) we're just above the coldest of it.

Is there a chance we could see snow over towards blackburn tonight.Temp is now reading -9.2

BBC Forecast suggests a Heavy snow shower around 3am round our area. But there is some showers travelling from the NE but its If they can make it over the Pennines and if they have anything left in them time they get to us. Our best shout is hopefully Sunday/Monday. But we have been taken off the Weather Advisory list by the MetOffice but the Manchester Area's are in the advisory. Only takes a little change and it could be upon us.

-6.8c now

max temp today -2.9c

never seen a winter when i have had such low temps both day and night, around 2 miles from the coast only slightly elevated.

we wont see these low temps at the weekend with the wind increasing, however it will feel much colder with severe wind chill.

and the upper look like being colder than previous through this week -11 and -12
