Yes it looks as if its heading this way. The problem with the easterly flow is it will disperse the shower as it currently aligned to a NE flow. Also it wont last as long because the streamer effect will cease due to lateral alignment. What happens after that....

I would not like to be under that when it fell..... Remember the scene from the Omen when the priest gets spiked in the thunderstorm....!!!!

How long is this snow going to last? its been going for ages we are approaching a foot of snow now! biggrin.gif

No way are we, in Thornaby approacing a foot of snow, even in untouched places. I dare say its nearer to 8 inches than 12, if that.

The prevoiusly removed METO warning for Tyne and Wear on Saturday has just been re-instated. I think snow is heading our way... starting very soon as I am right on the edge of the snow now, with a red patch on collision course with Newcastle.

Its the unpredictability that makes this spell the best yet...

looks to be intesifying as it reaches landfall.in all fairness the METO, are as clued up as us lot when it comes to situations like this.

If the ppn continues to intensify out to the NE the way in which it has in the last 45 mins it will be immense when it makes landfall
