Will we get dusting,? just nuisance value now and would rather it didn't bother

Actually not been very severe here at all, had colder temps in recent years and more snow too, not very memorable at all from a personal point of view

That isn't bah humbug, just fact and needs to do something to write 2009/10 in the bad winter file for me

It's as stalled as a great big stalled thing :pardon:

Yep, maybe it likes the South West, stopping to take in the sights and sounds etc!

Not moving fast at all now, and anyone east of oxfordshire / berkshire i wouldn't get your hopes up for anything notable. The low pressure is situated in the wrong place to bring anything substantial. It needed to be 200 miles further SE down in the channel to drag the front northwards over the country. An added fact is the cold pool is slowly eating away the precipitation because of the lows position and not being close to any sea area to suck in the moisture. :shok:

At least I won't look like a numpty at work, I told them it wasn't going to snow.

Then when I got home and had a look I thought it might.

Not much of a consolation though.

Ah well, we still have some lying snow.

Quite like the look of the latest NAE:

Although I'm not trustful of it.

It is quite a decent model for the 6 to 48 hour period. Worth reviewing.

Interesting the Met are discounting the NAE on this occasion.

How are they discounting it?

in terms of advisories, they issued some when some In region were progged less accmulated PPN for the weekend event, than is progged here. They obviously don't expect it all to be snow. But interesting nonetheless.

Unfortunately I can't seem to view tonights NMM which I have alot faith in. Must admit im not a fan of the NAE!

At the moment looks as though we might see between 2-5cm of snowfall. However as is often the case it will come down to radar watching and who is lucky enough to be under a band of heavy precip. Im expecting the band to be rather fragmented which is why I feel some will be luckier than others.

Still a few cms is better than a kick in the teeth. May make up for last weekends disappointment.

Ah, right. I guess at this point they will simply monitor the radar and issue additional flash warnings if necessary. :drinks:

Anyway, bed time for me. Hopefully be pleasantly surprised tomorrow but I'm trying not to get my hopes up. Good night and good luck to you all!

4:30am - Just got up to go to the bathroom and made the mistake of looking out of the window to see it has started snowing, dam it, now it's going to be really hard to get back to sleep ! It's not much at the moment just a light covering on my car and pathway but it is comming down quite thick and fast.

Will it still be here in the morning and if so how much will there be ?

Nice covering of a cm or so here and still coming down. Didn't start until around 4ish, so isn't doing too badly!

Due to the lack of gritting, am starting to wonder if the schools will be open here.

Not even a flake here in East Herts - painfully slow progress of the front it would appear.

Yes, I wonder if this will catch people unawares: there's not much falling, but it is persistent.

Snowing here in MK, about 1cm, everything is covered. Temp is -0.2

The slush is solid ice under the thin layer of snow, so side roads will be dangerous.

Not enough snow to have a snow day though sad.gif

A hi before I head off to work... or try.

It appears to have got sliglhty heavier and on the radar it looks like we could have quite a few hours of this! Main roads have snow on them Roo!
