Been snowing steadily here since 8.30 am, only just starting to stick though as ground was very wet. I wonder if it'll stay as snow all day though.

So hats off to you Jed, well forecasted !

Sleet turned to snow here about 0950 - variable intensity and sticking well to grass but not hard surfaces. Won't be surprised if it reverts to sleet or rain later.

xcweather forecasting snow for Sunday - the first day of Spring :)

Nothing settling atm, but this quite unbelievable sure didn't see this one coming. Strange week really as this week as felt quite mild really, if you can call 6c mild. lol... gonna have a wander over at the radars I think. Coming down quite heavy now - still nothing settling.

Edit: correction its beginning to settle. ! :) :) :)

Looking at the radar the heaviest PPN is a few miles to your west, and moving slowly east. It's been over my area for hours but it's slowly easing.

Of course the problem is its been raining on and off all day, but IF the dew point continues to drop further this may turn out to be an 'event' as the radar looks positively active. Could be promising as we head towards sunset.

Have you managed a dusting yet?

It's been an insanely wet day here in the Boro! Lot's of localised flooding. I had 10.3mm's reading before i set off for work at 5am and it's been relentless ever since. We've even had the odd sleety burst thrown in for good measure!

Will post the rainfall total when I get home at 20.30!
