Lol.Yes another rinse and repeat i reckon Pete.

It`s gonna take something of a pattern change for someone to retype something different i think.

Have they got a certain well known member of a weather consultancy firm issuing these, these days? sorry.gif

Versions of maybe, unlikely or likely were repeated, maybe rofl.gif six times or more within that particular forecast. A good job I don't read too much into these forecasts.

Cheers

UK Outlook for Wednesday 15 Aug 2012 to Wednesday 29 Aug 2012:

There is no clear signal for any particular weather type to dominate through this period, although below average temperatures seem more likely than above average, particularly towards the south and east. A continuation of the weather conditions that have predominated since mid-July seems most probable. A lengthy spell of hot, sunny weather across the whole country currently looks unlikely. This outlook gives a broad description of the type of weather that is likely to affect the UK as a whole, including significant changes in the type of weather and an indication of how it may differ from what you may normally expect.

There is no clear signal for the MetO ever making another usable 16-30-day forecast, although below-average predictability seems likely, particularly to those areas hosting the Olympic Games. A continuation of the inept conditions that have dominated the MetO since mid-July seems probable. A lengthy spell of detailed weather-forecasting across the whole country currently looks unlikely. This outlook gives a broad non-description of the type of weather that might possibly affect the Northern Hemisphere as a whole, including significant changes in the type of forecast and how it may differ from what you wouldn't normally expect, had you just emerged from a cryogenic stasis chamber...

After recent it's 'performances' here, I reckon the MetO deserves the pillory?

delete the above and the 16-30 day outlook seems pretty valid to me.

Likewise in their 6-15 outlooks, the actual forecast bit seems as near correct as anyone is going to be. In the various e mails I had with them regarding their pre Olympic comments and the ones they now use, as above, they seem quite happy with it so it seems little any of us can do other than try and ignore it!

I think you have just about got your point over Pete, but the forecast is perfectly fine in my opinion, but see my comments above.
