UK Outlook for Saturday 20 Nov 2010 to Saturday 4 Dec 2010:

The trend is for generally more settled weather to spread across the UK during this period at the end of November and the start of December. Although rainfall may be somewhat above average in central and southern parts at first, it is likely to become near or below average everywhere during the first week of the period. With clear skies and winds perhaps lighter than normal, it looks as though temperatures will be often below average. There is also likely to be less sunshine than usual for many parts of the UK later in the period, the best of the brighter weather in northern areas.

That implies an easterly flow which would tie in with BFTP's thoughts for December.

Starting to look interesting for December! As said above, this ties in with BFTP's thoughts. Fingers crossed.

I will say one thing for the Met O output its certainly consistent since 5 November when they started to go for below normal and becoming more settled, with the minor changes down the line to mention wintry precip for some eastern areas.

So for 9 days now this theme has been given out. Rather stops some folk saying it charges too often. Of course it may still be wrong but I'd suggest the chances of mild rather than cold and a mobile Atlantic through this period is about 1 in 7 if that!

these updates have been, perhaps unusually, consistent along the same theme, both their 6-15 days and beyond since about 5 November was I think when their emphasis changed to colder outlooks in both
