Bigger than initial eruption when that first started all that time ago.

The fissure is slowly beginning to focus on one point. The flow rate may have dropped a little as well.

Interesting what looks like rock bounced down the slope from where some vehicles were parked towards the spectators lower down. There's now a large group round where the rock came to rest hopefully nobody got hurt

Around 18:22 on this video link

Exciting times ahead with volcanologists in Iceland now expecting that the Reykjanes will be undergoing a 70-year eruptive phase based on core geologic data, so there'll be plenty of opportunities in the years ahead to see these fissure eruptions come/go on a monthly/yearly? basis. The fella who runs the GeologyHub youtube channel is also flying into Keflavik to witness this eruption and will possibly be livestreaming it in the days ahead.

Yesterday evening the lava broke out of the lava lake draining it slightly. The Lava from the initial breakout is now in a tube so via the present camera's we can't see how far it's spread into Meradair. The draining has allowed the vents to start building a cones more easily albeit still slowly as most of the lava falls back into the lake so can't cool to rock still. This evening is another breakout which main join the original flow of last night although the flow is now choked off and another stream forming a little away from the original path. Probably be  along time before it breaks out of the valley unless the flow rate increases or the path to the south is blocked by cooling lava. it's also possible it just shuts down fairly soon or another fissure opens somewhere else.

A great video showing the scale of this eruption that we otherwise don't get to see via the live webcams. jonfr mentioning today that magma samples taken over the past few days from the flow indicates that it's older 'Gelingdalur' material being ejected, and the newer magma intrusion is still on the way up. With more fissure cracks appearing to 1km to the NE it could continue to expand over the coming days/weeks.

Little too see this morning courtesy of the bad weather which may be around for a few days.

Ground has been deflating since the start of the eruption as have the tremors so the eruption is meeting a steady state where the input matches the output.

It will be interesting if the eruption follows the last eruption where the output builds over time or do what most eruptions do start big and generally dimmish with time. This eruption at the moment seems to be following the normal pattern but it's far too early to make firm judgements.

GutnTog gets his drone out.

Access to the eruption zone today has been banned due to high winds and heavy rain. It may re-open towards evening.

Weather better now with a cone structure being built by the vents slowly but surely. The lave flow seems to gone quite far into the valley by the looks of it.

Well the cone has really grown quite a bit today. Now got block lava falling into more fluid lava. Quiet a few lava tunnels out there looking at todays live views

Not a lot too see due to bad weather. There was an increase in tremor earlier today and uplift is still occurring so there could be or has been a change in the eruption

Looking like the eruption is now winding down reduced magma flow and slow decline in tremor. It doesn't mean this eruption is over just that this particular episode may soon be drawn to a close.

Can't see any lava being produced just plenty of gas. I suspect the eruption is now coming to a close.

Stromboli volcano erupted yesterday morning(Sunday) sending plumes of smoke and lava down to the sea...

here is another live feed as the one i posted previousley above is not visable thanks to the plume of smoke obscuring the cam.

Edit: it is visable now.
