Thorocam showing nice fire at the top - well, it was.

There seems to be steam vents all over the place up there now.

I think the fire we are seeing is where the lava has reached so far. Looks like a lava 'river' in shape.

Looks like being another late night after all. -_-

What a wonderful day of watching.

Told you she was being a busy girl under all that cloud. Just look at her showing off now.

-_-:lol::D:lol::D:lol:

That lava is spreading down remarkably quickly! Perhaps the ice covering has broken through and that's what it is showing so well.

Sooooo exciting!

That vodaphone cam really is all behind like the cows tail! Only just showing on there!

I think it will make short work of the glacier now.

By morning it will be at the bottom surly.

I *so* wish I was up where that camera is now...

surly - lol! I can really relate to that volcano at the moment - there is a certain female (and male too, if I'm not being picky) in Aberdeen I would like to drop in that caldera.

Might not have to wait as long as morning. That glow is moving down really fast taking into account the length of that glacier.

There is a glow halfway down also and I don't think it is reflected from the top.

We are actually watching a glacier evaporate - how often do you think that will happen in one lifetime? On that note, I need to sleep. Night all!

Off for a week in East Anglia now, hope the volcano is still going when I get back.

Just checked all the webcams, seems that the clouds are in the way.

Fog/low cloud very slowly clearing on the Thorolfsfelli cam but still not enough to get a look at the end of the glacier!

That tremor has yet again gone up to previously unreached heights.

I suppose all that warm water in the cold air overnight was bound to cause fog. Lets hope as it warms up that it will also clear.

9:55am

Just cleared enough to notice that that heavy collapse of ice and water yesterday seems to have formed a new channel for the water to the left of the alluvial fan.

5 more earthquakes showing for the area.

Midday. Peering through the murk on the vodaphone cam there is still a tremendous volume of water pouring off the glacier.

No-one is going to be driving jeeps on there today.

This volcano really is determined to keep going isnt it.

Yes, the plume is impressive today, even better than yesterday, from the little I can see.

We should have more clear spells (according to the satellite) as the afternoon progresses so hopefully much more to see!

Sadly it doesn't look like the weather is going play ball. Pity as it would be very impressive to watch. Steam further down the slope but the question is when will/or if the lava will appear.

Interesting update from the met office, highlighting increased activity:

Latest reports from the Icelandic Met Office show the activity of the Eyjafjallajokull volcano to have increased with ash becoming slightly more concentrated. The plume is currently reaching heights of 17,000 to 18,000 feet and is spreading away from Iceland in a southeastward direction. Cloud cover around the volcano has broken recently, enabling the plume to be seen on webcam imagery. Issued at 1717 on Mon 03 May 2010

The Irish Aviation Authority (IAA) has informed Irish-based airlines that it is concerned that Irish Airports may be impacted by the drift south of the volcanic ash cloud caused by the north easterly winds.

Current information from the Volcanic Ash Advice Centre (VAAC) suggests that a ‘no fly zone' may have to be imposed over Ireland tomorrow that may affect Dublin, Shannon and some regional airports.

The IAA expects a further update from the VAAC at 20.00hrs (8pm) and will make a decision then concerning operations at Irish Airports and Irish Airspace.

Over-flights of Ireland from the UK and Europe are NOT expected to be impacted tomorrow and southern UK Airports (Heathrow etc ) are not expected to be impacted. Flights originating from Irish airports may be affected.

A statement on the Operation of Irish Airports and Airspace will be posted on this web site at 2030hrs tonight.

Please contact your airlines website after 20.30 hrs for information on your flight.
