Hmm, the mountain looks like it has split in two (glacier melting I suppose). Compare these two images (overview - not the zoomed in bit):

Clearer view now: http://www.vodafone.is/eldgos/en

The old girl HAS been busy... :0

No wonder so much water is draining off! Do you reckon that is lava flow down the glacier we are seeing?

GRR! I used to be able to toggle for full screen on the Thorolfsfelli cam but it freezes my computer now.

Ah too many tabs open, it works now I have closed a few. Fantastic view on full screen.

If it stays clear we may find out when it gets dark. Hard to know now, but something hot is in there.

Fascinating! Look at that crack... and the plume...

It's sad in a way - that glacier has been there so long and - BANG - a few weeks later look at it.

Despoiled!

An awful lot of ash still being spewed out by the look of it. Is this likely to affect the UK when the winds turn northerly does anyone think?

There she is in her pretty white dress and someone just blew dirt down it and ripped a big hole in the skirt. Sad really.

As for the ash vcloud - well, they have decided it's not a danger haven't they...

Just do as we are told, after all we are only plebians, can afford to lose a few surely.

When I toggle Thorolfsfelli cam to full screen I am sure I can begin to see fire visible at top of mountain.

May be wishful thinking though.

Yep definitely saw it then when the black ash belched out.

Its repeated at midnight, thank god

Seems I missed the best of the volcano appearing from behind the clouds too lol

lots of catching up to do...

Not missed too much Rusty, just in time to see the flame appearing on the Thorolfsfelli Cam. Really good now the light is fading.

Look right at the top at the right. A wonderful explosion a couple of minutes ago. Not sure if it is visible without full screen though as that is how I am watching.

Can see the flames on the Valahnuk cam also now . Need a good explosion though as that pesky steam cloud is in the foreground.

Wide awake now, won't miss a thing.

Fiver flow charts here http://vmkerfi.vedur.is/vatn/index.php just type in the name and password provided (vatnshaed rennsli) the river is called Markafljot, looks like the water flow is up today.

Russ

I think the yellow clouds must be rich in ash and maybe SO2

WOW i have a strange opaque like yellow misty thing on Hvolsvelli cam now what is it?

Someone on another forum said it was raindrops on the lens, not so sure myself though.

Can always say you have seen the aurora. :nonono:

Thorolfsfelli cam looking really good at the moment, lots of flame!

Two different vents by the look of it.

Definitely the one to watch at the moment.

Fireworks and lava bombs.

This one appears to show all three vents active at times.

Good view from here at the moment: http://eldgos.mila.is/eyjafjallajokull-fra-valahnjuk/

This link was posted on the Eruptions blog: http://www.mbl.is/myndasafn/safn/1660/

Some amazing pictures plus a lot of shots of the cleanup & research stuff going on in the background as well as the effects it is having on the farming community.

Great pictures LP.

The eruption is still going on.

The latest ash to head our way is thankfully at a low level http://transport.nilu.no/products/eyjafjallajokull'>http://savaa.nilu.no/Home/tabid/2619/Default.aspxhttp://transport.nilu.no/products/eyjafjallajokull

The models for this are pretty good

http://transport.nilu.no/products/eyjafjallajokull

It looks like the previous eruption or a previous eruption produced what looks like the terminal moraine of this glacier, the current eruption is forming a new one. A lady from Scotland said this on the eruptions blog yesterday, I think it makes a lot of sence.

Lots of links here http://wwwobs.univ-bpclermont.fr/SO/televolc/hotvolc/Islande_Avril2010/liens.php kept me busey for ages lol
