The rain just woke me up. I'm not joking, that was some of the heaviest rain i've ever seen, ever. That intensity has only been surpassed on a couple of occasions.

Aaron

Monsoon like rain here as well. Met Office warnings now for North West England of heavy downpours right up till this evening. Certainly the heaviest rain I have seen in a while here in Crewe.

Good luck to the Gloucester people today, and everyone else who could potentially get something later. Ive downgraded my expectations for here but still hope o catch a sniff of something later. Especially as I am sitting here waiting for a new video camera to be delivered, woo, thats cursed my chances :drinks:

wouldnt be surprised to see the central midlands pick up only the dregs of this beefy showers today, but good luck all anyway :drinks:

Yeah both the 00Z NMM, the met forecast and the present radar make me suspect such a thing. But time will tell eh.

Thats what has just passed over me.. very heavy rain for about 20 mins, everything overflowing, one bright flash of lightning with hail and long deep rumble... rain was so heavy my drainpipe has burst.... deep black sky is now being replaced with blue sky with lots of convection....

Nice to see some convective skies for a change here, lots of Tcu shooting up now after a clear start. Interesting radar to the west and can see distant anvils, but no doubt showers likely to drift just north of me.

Really eerie conditions here. Grey, misty and completely overcast. it had been dry but just now we've caught a heavy shower (as I'm typing)
