Well today......

Abit of loss in canada and a bit of gain just north of our lads in afganistan, looks like winter will be starting for them soon :-(

I envy you, Use to work up at Ft MacMurray. Some classic cold winters, well below zero, late ice breaks in May. Hope to get back there soon. Live it up there.

Well some gains in central russia and northern canada, but what's happened to the sea ice???? eek!

Surprising to see that with the ice. It has actually been gaining in extent the last few days??? I'd eexpect it gain lots during the coming week though!

That makes no sense at all to the arctic ice extent increase, maybe its a blip on they're behalf?

It seems to have thickened up down the E coast of Greenland.

That's not a very good thing though. That ice just drifts from the central Arctic out through there into the N Atlantic where it melts!

The ice should start spreading towards the Bering strait this week though as the winds change.

this could well be because of the track of igor sucking up warmer air.

i expect a recovery soon after as igor moves away.

i doubt it igor is 3000 miles from western Canada will have no influence here

That would be the Sierra Nevada Mountains in Southern Spain the most southerly ski resort in Europe Funnily snows there every year!
