I could be up for this, pretty easy for the central Scots to get down as well - although still not that easy for cookiemonster  Only thing holding me back is that I'm meant to be moving flats that weekend! Oh, and I have no tent...

Lack of tent shouldnt be a problem. I borrowed one last year which I still have but need to purchase one for myself and so would say you could use my spare one.

Sounds and looks really good Tom. I have a spare tent if anyone needs to borrow one since i'll be using my fishing bivvy and bed chair :p

Oh no after all that just looked in my diary and I have a gig that night in Doncaster. Wonder if I could just drive up after?

Regarding the weather potential in Shap because of its elevation , Shap Fell 1400 ft above sea level can when conditions are right produce interesting weather

Hi fellow storm chasers

Do I go ahead today and confirm the booking for the BBQ and shall i do it for 23 July. As a matter of interest there is also an air display over Windermere on that week-end, so some planes will be around. I do think the tornado is there this year.

Hey Tom

Guessing around 5hr drive to Shep. Think camping is on the cards.

Tom - do you need an exact number today? Just waiting for an email from the promoter of the festival we are playing in Doncaster to see when our set time is. Then I can make a decision. If we are playing in the day then I will leave straight after as I will be a couple of hours from Shep so could make it for early evening.

Thanks , a 5 hour drive kind of counts me out as well as the B&B prices, have fun drinks.gif

OK I have confirmed the Saturday of the 23rd with the camp site. I have told them that I will confirm numbers as we get nearer but the farmers wife is cool with that.

As it's close to a 6.5hour drive and £150 in fuel for me to do the trip, it's just a tad too pricey.

Enjoy yourself.

There are tales of a large black animal wandering around Shap Fell by night. Some folk say its like a cat other think its a dog. Chewed bones have been discovered.

Farmer's wife Ethel Swindlehourst of Hill Farm says she is keeping her dog 'Shep' in so it dont get frightened.

In winter the road to Shap is one of the first to closed because of snow. It was once the main and only road to Scotland and has now been replaced by the M6

Aaarrgh!

Cant make this now as all my cover for kids etc have let me down, Lou is seeing Customers in London until the late afternoon, all parents (Babysitters) are away on holiday and my usual lady across the road has been called into a Crown Green Bowling championship decider :wallbash::wallbash:

Have left a message with Tom to say go ahead with this day as I cant really do another until October and by then Shap will probably have Snow near the top :whistling:

Think there is still a fair number of attendees with Mr Cameron, John, Arron and a lot more I cant remember at the moment so if you are near enough please try to make it and if you can give numbers to Tom he can let the farmer know.

Once Again Sorry! :(:( And I am gutted!

That's a shame Paul :( Looks like I can probably attend, if anyone one in the London area needs a lift, should have some room in the car for a few others.

Sadly, not looking likely for me to attend either :cray:

If anyone can make it, I strongly recommend going as they are great events (I attended the 1st and 2nd BBQs) - not least Tom's cracking flow of comedy!
