Going by the various dates when people can attend it was looking like week end 24th July. As for the location. I have been looking a various sites in the lakes but all pretty picky i.e. quiet family sites, no parties over 5 people or minimum two nights. I have a few more to check though. A lot of camping sites have given up with tents and started just renting log cabins or caravans.

Do I need to keep looking and do we need to consider reviewing dates.

Looks like we are rapidly running out of time to get something sorted for this year :(

Now on the 1st July so 2/3rd is out of the running.

9/10th will be to soon to get something sorted.

16/17th I am down in Camber Sands (Dont ask!!)

I myself am only free for the 23/24th and 30/31st of July

But from the 6th/7th - 13th/14th - 20th/21st - 27th/28th August not available nor am I available for the 3rd/4th - 10th/11th and 17th/18th September

So it is not looking good for the 3rd annual BBQ, Maybe the Camping thing is holidng us all back and we need to go back to someone having it at their venue etc

23/24th good for me too and pretty much anywhere. I'd invite everyone to mine but it's a bit small!

23rd and 24th good for me as well, Venue is going to be the sticky point, dont think neither Dave V or Brucie have come up with anything so wee bit stuck at the moment.

Anyone got a big Gaff ??

Tom;s been on via email a few times to me today. Hes probably been in every camp site up there, but having issues with bookings or max groups of 5 etc. He's just been on again and seems to have found an ideal spot in Shap, just off M6 and 2 or 3 Pubs within walking distance.

He will be on with more details later.

Good place for storms too apparently. :drunk:

Ok well I have a site which I did kind of fancy when drove passed it a month back but the members only sign prevented me from doing more. I did want to get somewhere within the central lakea. However whilst camping used to be the norm camp site are now becoming harder to find.

To cut a long story short camps sites are turning in log cabin site, large groups frowned upon, family sites like peace and quiet and a few site prebooked with a minimum of 2 nights.

So I have found a farm site which is across the road from a pub and is on the edge of the lakes in Shap.

I will stick some photos up.. They currentlty have 23 & 30 july free so are good to go. £ 3.50 per person per night They only have one wc and WHB but dont think it to be a problem.

The farm house

I have not booked it yet but looks like 23 is a popular choice

I could be up for this, pretty easy for the central Scots to get down as well - although still not that easy for cookiemonster  Only thing holding me back is that I'm meant to be moving flats that weekend! Oh, and I have no tent...
