Did hear thunder, getting dark over Hartlepool. Any reports from down there?

The radar looks good for places between Sunderland and Hartlepool, so possibly.

I doubt it'll be that severe though, especially when compared with the storm earlier on - these cold fronts rarely deliver big storms in Northern England.

Looks like this is the cold front btw - definitely the last round of storms this time.

If thats the cold front as it sinks south more storms should get going

I thought it was heading straight for us too, but alas no, it saw us and crossed the channel! Nothing much out there for us now!! One positive, it was closer to us than we were expecting!!

Think I heard a couple of rumbles while in the pub but cannot be sure. Heavy rain at the same time. Anything more coming Macclesfields way or to the SW is it all just rain? :S

Yeah, would be especially good for Cleadon as the NE wind has eased right off, and as a result there's not much low cloud about here- so if we get anything exciting I should actually be able to see it this time! Again it seems to be developing over this area and then intensifying out in the North Sea.

Noticed one flash out of the corner of my eye earlier, and heard 3 rumbles of thunder.

Can you see any lightning near your way or hear any more thunder TWS?

12z GFS may look naff for those across the SE tonight, but 12z ECM, NAE and UKMO develop precipitation across the SE and E Anglia overnight into early Tuesday:

This is ECM for 6am and noon on Tuesday:

UKMO for Midnight and 6am:

Quite a few storms brewing across Biscay now, and they look to head towards SE UK overnight via NW/N France:

So those across SE not out the woods yet, just the breakdown for us is somewhat delayed than further west.
