Well I can report it is a lovely evening here and no sign off any pending mischief. blue sky as far as I can see out south and west. The wind has completely dropped off but it is going to be a very lovely quiet evening perfect for sleeping. .....damnations...

nothing happening in Skegness has cooled slightly but still very warm and sticky. just been signed off work for a week and forced to sit with my leg in air so a nice storm would have cheered me up lol

A curious pattern of strikes emerging here...

http://www.meteorologica.info/freedata_lightning.htm

That north to south pattern doesn't correspond to the rainfall radar to my eyes. Strange - or just a simple mistake by moronic me!

Regards,

Mike.

Keep a close on that massive cell/supercell over N/NE France...such big storms can help trigger other cells in its locality!

If that cell can burst under very similar conditions to what the SE/E of England has been under, and indeed the N of France continues to be under, we'd be fools to rule anything out!!

:pardon:

You generally cannot hear thunder that is further than 10 miles off, and mostly it would be within 6 miles or so.
