CZ storms?

Convergence Zone Storms where the Northerly winds are interacting with onshore breezes down south and moving them along a line

Getting dark here in Rustington, nr Worthing on the coast. Rumbles of thunder out to the west every now and then. Still 25C though and very muggy.

Quite a few +CG strikes showing up around Herts, Beds, Cambs as well.

Looks like a screw zone for London/Essex/Kent/E.Sussex and areas W of Reading at present.

To me it looks like all this action is going to link to the storms over the Jersey area and march North Eastwards today and move ever towards the east towards evening time so by 5-6pm it should be in a line from Worthing towards Great Yarmouth. So hopefully by the end of the day most will have had a storm

Paul S

Yes thats my way of thinking. Good news because then everyone enjoys the fun and games. Really fancy Norfolk this afternoon for anyone storm chasing.

???

The line is forming into a solid line all the way down to France, there is only one way that is all going and that is North Eastwards, you will have to be very unlucky if the line breaks apart as it tilts eastwards this evening

Sounds like the old man falling down the stairs!! Still getting these distant rumbles. Sound quite beefy too.

So whats it looking like for my neck of the woods then? :D

Boo you look in a pretty decent location today. Look at the radar and from Brest, France to the Wash, a line of storms.

Bracknell is kind of in the firing line yet they break apart coming over the ND and then seem to reform, distinctly darker here though, just heard a huge rumble...nope...just a plane off on the Southampton DP from Heathrow. Swiss 51 Im reckoning

I feel you misreading the situation.

At the moment the line of storms is moving NNE. However what should happen is as the day progresses this line of activity should move ever so slowly further E. So come later this afternoon/evening the line of thunderstorms should be over Kent/E parts of E Anglia. My only fear for those in the SE is what the NAE is suggesting but after recent experience im choosing to ignore the models!
