This is West Lothian not far from Edinburgh which has been a magnet for storm systems recently.

Again the skies look loaded especially that pic looking northwards - some potential in there..

very sharp shower here a little while ago, max r/f rate of 63.2mm, but total only 4mm. No thunder here with it.

Look at the surface wind covergent zone, try http://www.xcweather.co.uk/

and link that with the radar off Net Wx, and it clearly shows where the major activity is at the moment.

link in to this site for the Watnall 12z ascent, tops to 30,000ft + and again it all fits neatly.

If my geography is right then they are not too far from you. Its that line of convergence precipitation you can see on the radar, heading SE.

and its still developing, and merging with what has just gone over me!!

Any flooding Katherine?

None reported - storm is essentially over here, skies brightening, rain almost stopped, birds returning to feeders.... that's probably it for today...

Try to keep the language clean tomp456. This is a family-orientated website afterall and it can do without the references such as that.

Try either the V5 radar or zooming the V4 radar for lightning info, we're working on the loss of data on the default view, sorry we moved servers earlier today and some bits still need a squirt of wd40 and a kick or two

I still have lighting feed on the v4 when zoomed in. So it's still avaliable, just as IanM pointed out not on the wider-field view.

Distant rumbles of thunder in Newcastle now, storms firing to my West and Northwest.
