Has anyone seen the stuff tailing Frenchie? North West of Le Harve?

Frenchie is still maintaining 16-32mm of rainfall at the moment, I believe - so let's not rule her out for strengthening, but has anyone also noticed the stuff forming west of Le harve? in a line from Eastbourne to Brest.

It looks like Frenchie is bigger than we think, as all of this is joined together. The cold front has only just moving through, whilst the warm front (north of Frenchie) head northbound, now I am no Meteorologist, but 1am should probably see things kick off when the warm most air is replaced by the cold air from the Atlantic.

Triple point fronts are extremely hard to get right.

I asked someone to name it, and someone did.....

Well it's been a long day. Credit to whom named Frenchie, "Frenchie". (I can't be @rsed to check back over 30 odd pages. biggrin.png

And if it doesn't pay off, MCS1 or MCS2, (Maybe an MCS3?) I think there will be a few other 'French words' spoken at some point tomorrow. tease.gif

Phil.

Haha! Just didn't want to take the credit aha!

As you can see, we've already got developments starting behind Frenchie, Looks like we may need a new name if it forms in MCS 2...

Right I'm off for a few hours shut eye, setting alarm for 3...if there's nothing happening, then will reset alarm for 5...I'm not running myself into the ground for stuff that's possibly hours away....

Massively intense cells behind the dying remnants of Frenchie though and a lot of activity over NW France, where btw CAPE wasn't that high today at all.

Best of luck everyone.....hopefully we'll be woken in the early hours by some great crashes and bangs...if not then I fear some walloping omelette on the faces of the Beeb and Met in particular!

Outbreaks of light rain now affecting North London & Northwards into hertfordshire and bedfordshire, I anticipate this will intensify further but I can't be sure.

I'd love to stay up but I'm not sure it's entirely worth it for the occasional rumble and some heavy rain at 5am wink.png Thanks everyone for their take on the evening/night so far - if I come back downstairs to another 36 pages I shall scream.......rolleyes.gif

Still no rain here but I'm confident about storms. One thing is that the wind has really picked up last hour good.gif

Noticed that too, rain is intensifying over the northern home counties now, perhaps something will happen, perhaps nothing at all, a lot of guessing games

Blue is your cold front, Purple is your (Occlusion) and red is your Warm Front.

As you can see that's how the MetOffice portray things and what's on the radar.

wind gusts picking up here too and a lot of cloud cover however I am shattered so off to bed. Windows will be open just in case but can't do the radio thing coz I only have DAB radio's and I don't think they work for picking up sferics (do they...?) Good luck to those staying up good.gif

The wind here is really starting to get gusty, just had a gust of 33mph...

Couldn't sleep so came back on. CHIMET showing a wind of F5 gusting F6, quite an increase from F3 just over an hour ago. Just had very light showers here though.

Wait guys, look at the behind of Frenchie, it's intensifying. And it's moving north, does anybody have the Netweather Radar that's more up to date, from 15z-30z it was intensifying, what it doing now??

Look here, http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/pws/invent/weathermap/
