The BBC said it would be a little breezy in the South. Thats an understatement ! I can't recall the last time I had such strong winds here and I have heard all kinds of things being blown around in the night and my garden looks like total carnage. Is this something over and above Ex-hurricane Katia or have the weather men got it totally wrong again for us in the South? And does anyone have any gust recordings for this neck of the woods ?

Have to say I'm loving it !!!

It is breezy here but not that windy. The maximum gust so far is just 21mph and because of our sheltered location 30mph looks like it will be the upper limit here. Strongest winds on track for previous areas - all going to plan

Mornings.

No wind, just damp. Mmm this is odd people talking about loosing trees in Wales, windows shaking and bins moving?

Blackpool must be in a bubble or calm before the storm.

I don't think this is going to be as big as people would like. Theres a 'forum storm' just here dreamimg of utter distruction and panic. A Netweather FI Forum Storm. Never the less its all a good read.

Ttfn.

Wind is gusty here, max gust so far of 36.5mph which is already over what I was expecting to see! Will be interesting to see if I can get my first 40mph gust of the year!

Windy enough to wake me up- cloud speed is very fast.. Nearest observation recorded a 41mph gust at 5am.

I am totally working from home today! :)

Pretty stormy in SW Wales- consistent buffeting wind, 40mph gusts?, and occaisional heavy rain- nothing too extreme atm, though.

Reports of a roof off a house and roads closed in The Valley's, further E of here.
