The 300mb wind flow prediction for the rest of today suggests a slight veering of the flow but its a relatively light wind for that height so most of the country, shown on the sat picc above, to the south of that area of Ci should stay relatively clear especially the further SE you are. Some increase over the more northern parts just south of that area for a time. Indeed thick enough in this area for it to have, a mix of Ac and Sc, to give about half a dozen spots of very slight rain around 0930BST.

A slightly cooler start here today, but there's no high cloud and the temperature has been rising fast, already exceeding 23 deg C. It seems quite possible that 30 deg C could be reached somewhere today...

Weatheronline has Gravesend at 28c at midday which is incredible. Here its a lot more cloudy than yesterday and therefore a bit cooler but still very warm considering it is the 2nd of October. Currently 22.9c with occasional sunshine.

I don't know if Monkspath weather station (http://www.monkspathweather.org.uk/) is regarded as "official" or not, but apparently we peaked at 28.2c a short while ago.

Good lord it's hot today.

It feels hotter than yesterday.

I finished my book sunbathing yesterday, so will have to find something else to read later during more sunbathing.dirol.gif

Looked like it was going to brighten up and turn sunny around 12pm but the cloud has stayed over here with a line of blue sky to the far South :(

Slightly more broken cloud approaching from the Celtic Sea / St George's Channel may improve things later this afternoon. Been wall-to-wall grey in Cheshire today, the front does seem to be more advanced than expected yesterday.

We're on the cloud boundary here and have had some sunny spells but overall a cloudy day. Can see blue skies to the south of here.

25.3c the max so we've done well.

Friday was the heat winning day here at 26.7c followed by Thursday at 26.1c. Saturday a little behind at 25.9c.

1 more nice warm day left by looks of it then autumn returns!

Todays temp here would`ve been the highest october max since 1995 only for yesterday`s new record, cloudy mostly.

Seems that 29.9c was the max yesterday so 0.5c higher than the all time high set in october 1985 of 29.4c then we had a very cold november with snow.

Still crystal clear here, without the high cloud we had yesterday. However, there's a noticeable breeze today and the temperature's hovering around 26, about a degree down on this time yesterday (although in our garden it tends to peak late), so it looks like yesterday will end up the hottest day of this spell here.

Had a high of 25C here today, making it the warmest day since July! High cloud now making the sunshine a bit hazy, currently 24.8C. What a start to October this has been!

21.7'c in Buxton today. Given the light rain and humidity considering its October 2nd even that's not bad going for the station above 1100ft. The forecast tomorrow is 50/50 as to wether the front disperses, if so we'll expect to see temps slightly higher than today's but with the CF passing through on a more less than humid breeze.

Peaked at 25.9 DgC officially today, but I saw 28.9 DgC on the home weather station which is in a relatively sheltered spot in the garden
